*Christie Expects Payola From Obama Now*

“I cannot stress this highly enough: If you are in the projected path of this hurricane, you have to take precautions now,” Obama said. “Don’t wait. Don’t delay.”

“All of us have to take this storm seriously,” he said. “If you’re in the way of this hurricane, you should be preparing now.” He said all indications “point to this being a historic hurricane.”

3. To the average person, this means nothing, but to me, *CWN* that says something, and I hear what its saying, its saying, *Payola* folks, if you didn't hear it, so there ya go.
4. Thats why I get the big bucks, I hear what the story is saying, while you *liberal muckity mucks* listen to know what the media wants you to think.
5. Its being commonly reported now, that the damages could be 7 billion dollars for a tropical storm, country wide, just hearing it right now on FOX NEWS, which they too are going with these *liberal muckity muck* numbers, which is based on what, Christie's numbers?
6. Some one just pulling numbers out of their ass, that would be *Christie*, and the liberal media.

Sorry bout that,

1. I knew this Gov. Christie, was a phony, he says right off the bat, a few hours after the hurricane dud passed, it wasn't anywhere as bad as the forecasters said it would be, claims that his state has had 10's of billions of damages, and is close to asking for it from Obama.
2. I shit you not!!!!!!
New Jersey governor Christie expects storm damage in billions - Yahoo! News

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on Sunday that he expects damages from Hurricane Irene to run into the billions of dollars along the state's Atlantic coast and from inland river flooding.

"I've got to imagine that the damage estimates are going to be in the billions of dollars, if not in the tens of billions of dollars," Christie said in an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" program.

He said state damage assessments along the coast would begin Sunday afternoon but that inland damage may not become obvious until river flooding subsides as late as Tuesday."

3. This Gov. Christie is a RINO folks!

Are you privy to knowledge of the extent of damage that the Governor is not? WTF?

And you clearly do not know what "payola" means, idiot.

1. 10 billion dollars, in NJ?
2. Use your melon *dipshit*.
3. I'm using *Payola* as a general term for corruption, sue me if you must.
4. So your one who agrees that 10 billion in damages have taken place in NJ alone?
5. Just with the rain?:eusa_hand:

Not surprisingly, I see no mention of Christie expecting payola from Obama in the cited article.

That, again, not surprisingly, would make the OP a liar.

1. Its not in the article, *wait for it*.
2. Its coming.

Have you liberals never heard of PERSONAL PROPERTY DAMAGE? Personal property is covered by the owners property insurance--NOT THE Federal Government.

So if roofs were ripped off--the private insurer covers the cost of replacement--DA DUH. The ONLY time taxpayers eat it--is if a property is covered by national flood insurance--if the property is not covered by national flood insurance--the owner of that property has to pay out of pocket to repair the damage.

That is why New Orleans still looks the way it does--and years after Katrina. Hardly any of those people had home-owners or national flood insurance.

Exactly. And in NJ, any home located in a potential flood zone must have flood insurance, which is managed by FEMA. You can't get a mortgage without it. We pay $578 a year for it. Thankfully, we've never had to make a claim.

Sorry bout that,

How much have the feds expropriated from New Jersey taxpayers, ostensibly for their own good?

Is it not only *ahem* fair for the governor of any state to recoup those funds for his citizens?

1. I knew these *Fuckchops* would rip off the *American Tax Payers*.
2. This storm was peanuts.
3. And we will *all* get to see how the *liberal muckity mucks* roll.
4. This is a great opportunity to milk *America Tax Payers*, never let a disaster go to waste folks!
5. Even a *phony disaster*.:eusa_hand:

And what would you be saying if it turned out as badly as it could have and precautions had not been taken? What would be your take if state-level irresponsibility like that in Louisiana had resulted in terrible losses like those following Katrina?

Saying the state had billions of dollars in damages doesn't mean he expects the federal government should pay for it. It simply means the state had billions of dollars in damages, including insurance claims and loss of revenue.

You are probably the biggest idiot at USMB.

Irene Damage, State-by-State - Bloomberg

The storm’s cost to insurers may have fallen to $3 billion in the U.S. as the storm weakened on its path toward New England, according to Kinetic Analysis Corp., a firm that predicts the effects of disasters. An earlier estimate was for insured losses of as much as $14 billion. Federal officials are still assessing damage and haven’t released a value on the damage yet, said Craig Fugate, head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Gee... looks like Christie's number was floated around before Christie said it.

Chess=putz :rofl:

Huh? Property and infrastructure damage will takes to assess and certainly the costs will not all be the responsibility of the federal govt.

Also Christie said "potential losses in the billions" That includes economic losses esp. at the Jersey Shore. The casinos alone have lost tens of millions over the weekend. Christie said THE STATE will be working with business leaders to ease the pain in a number of ways. That does not involve the feds. either.

you're casting pearls before swine.

Well I just went over the Stone Harbor bridge where several crews are working. I believe the bridge is stuck. Cars can go over, but boats can't go under. That's a problem and could cost a bundle to repair. The damage assessments won't be known for months, but it will be a lot. Christie understands this, as well as most people with more than half a brain.
