MSNBC Leftist Chris Mathews was utterly destroyed by a recent column in the Examiner. Old Chris was whining about the use of the term "regime" in describing the Obama administration. Poor Mathews forgot his own use of that very term in describing GW Bush not so long ago...

It appears that Matthews has suffered a major memory loss. In fact, a search of the Nexis database for "Bush regime" yields 6,769 examples from January 20, 2001 to the present.
...Finally -- you knew this was coming -- on June 14, 2002, Chris Matthews himself introduced a panel discussion about a letter signed by many prominent leftists condemning the Bush administration's conduct of the war on terror. "Let's go to the Reverend Al Sharpton," Matthews said. "Reverend Sharpton, what do you make of this letter and this panoply of the left condemning the Bush regime?"
Oops. Perhaps Joe McCarthy never called the U.S. government a regime, but Chris Matthews did. And a lot of other people did, too. So now we are supposed to believe him when he expresses disgust at Rush Limbaugh doing the same?

What if I said I knew a 9 yr. old who would do your job better? No matter how much I love that 9 yr. old, it wouldn't be true. Their brains aren't even done growing yet.

mathews-smarmy control freak- thinks he's all that. grossly mistaken. would probably trample mother teresa for a chance to blow obama
olberman- control freak with anger issues, thinks he's the smartest guy in the room which is true when he's alone in the shower. probably the most dishonest of the bunch, although beck gives him a run for his money and none of them are getting urgent messages from diogenes to get in touch.
maddow- the best of the lot, which isn't saying much. bright but a little too shrill for my taste. mostly up front about her biases. occasional very funny

Yes, I'd say Olbermann is more intelligent than Glenn Beck, but his rants and propaganda are very similar in nature, from the opposite end of the spectrum of course.

I listen to them all from time to time as well. Most in this thread don't do that, they're just spouting off according to their own agenda.
I don't love any of them either but just don't believe some of these responses.

I got to tell you truth, the whole "doesn't lie" thing? I've heard that said in the same exact way from folks I know on the right, and they are speaking as truthfully as they can on the matter.
People just like to listen to things that they agree with, and are scientifically proven to be more likely to accept a lie about things they believe in.
Olbermann exaggerates and stretches the truth as much as any of them. He just wears glasses.

I just dont agree. I watch Olberman and he does not lie. He makes mountains out of mole hills at times but I have never seen him lie. I have caught him making a mistake before and then seen him corrrect the record on hte same show. If you disagree than go get an example where he lied and inform me.
I have seen tape of Hannity, Beck and OReilly telling out and out lies. Then never correcting the record.
Rachel does not lie and I challenge anyone to find a lie from her.
On the Fox people there is tape of them lying.
Go to media matters and type their names in and see what happens.
There is no equal to Fox on the left.

I watch Morning Joe every moring before I head to work. I like Willie and Barnacle. Can take or leave Mika. He has interesting guests and has no problem shutting O'donnell down whe he goes apeshit on the show. LOL
I have watched every one of those mentioned on this board except for Hannity. Him I have never watched. Catch Beck once in a blue moon and sure don't listen to Rush. Olberman, Maddow, Matthews. Have watched them all.
Can't say I agree with all I see and hear but I am willing to listen.
You must not listen to the same Joe Scarborough that I do. He blasts his party and the left all the time. He doesn't pull any punches either.
From what he said on his show one day. He left office because he and his wife were having big problems with their son. He felt he needed to be a Dad more than he needed to be in Congress. Is that true?? Don't know but thats what Joe says.

Well... There are several methods to lying.
The one most commonly used by all these talking heads is lying via omission.
When you watch them, they'll tell you all the information that supports their side of the point, but omit the information that may contradict that point.
So, when you say neither Olbermann or Maddow report false information, you are in all probability correct, but if you tell a half truth and use it to support a narrative, then that is, when taken in its totality, a lie.
This same tactic is used by the right-wing people. Glenn Beck takes it to an art form.
If you were to go over Glenn Beck's shows, you probably wouldn't be able to point out a specific piece of false information, but when he puts all his half-truths together in narrative form, he is in fact lying.
The only blatant out-and-out lies I have heard from any of the major talking heads are from Rush Limbaugh, who actually has done things like blame the collapse of the auto industry on Obama.

I guess when it comes to stirring things up, CNN is strangely not there. FOX and MSNBC are the only cable news networks being discussed when it comes to these talking head shows.
