I feel torn. I respect both people. Christie was better than that left-wing loon Murphy, and. Trump was better than Obama, but Governor Christie left with low approval numbers because of that bridge gate scandal. The supreme court vindicated Christie on 9-0. New Jersey Democrats damaged Christie because he would have bested Hillary. They felt he was the only one who would have the media held victory laps declaring nobody could beat Hillary. Then Trump came down the escalator. He Ran, and won! I voted for both men, but Christie has a point we can't keep talking about 2020 how's that helping Republicans in 2022 or 2024?

The problem is, of course, is that he's not drinking the Orange Kool-Aid. He realizes that the GOP has to plan for a post-Trump future, where the GOP has to stand for something other than pretending that Trump's presidency wasn't the disaster it was.

The GOP has been able to walk away from disasters like McCarthy and Nixon because the party was about something more than just one man who went over a line. Trump went over every line, and the response of the GOP has been to denounce anyone who even mildly objects, including their previous two presidential candidates.

We DO have to move on from the 2020 election. This election a few days ago is proof of that. Republicans won many seats, including the most important one, Virginia. New Jersey was supposed to be a democrat landslide, no one even payed attention to New Jersey, because it was a lost cause. Government is so freaking big that it's impossible for one person to staff it with trusted people. So Trump was conned like every President before him.
