Yes. This is really happening. China is upset at Japan over an island.
They've been protesting in China in an organized fashion destroying
Japan businesses. At least it's just a 4-1 advantage for the Chinese
instead of the 222-1 versus the rest of the World.

The fact that China is allowing protests at all is interesting.

The general in question has probably been in the army for decades and wants a war for his own personal glory. As for the situation in general, starting a conflict over some barren rocks would be lunacy.

Of course there's some resources nearby but the economic impact of a conflict would negate that. Statistics show that China and Japan are major trading partners. If there was a war, trade with the US, South Korea and Australia would stagnate. Its just too risky for everyone involved.
