China installed 7.14 GW of solar in Q1 2016

China's installed 7.1 million kilowatts [7.1 GW] of new photovoltaic power capacity in thefirst quarter, the National Energy Administration said on Friday.

This brings the country's total installed photovoltaic power capacity to 50.3 million kilowatts,up 52 percent from the end of Q1 last year, according to a statement on the administration's website.

The country's photovoltaic power generation jumped 48 percent year on year to 11.8 billion kilowatt-hours during the first quarter, according to the statement.

Yet, you say it isn't a good source of energy? If that was true stuff like this wouldn't be occurring.

Funny because we just has this scandal about a solar plant in the US, that is producing barely 1/3 of it's installed capacity...... meaning... it's not that great of a source of energy.

Facts, trump claims my friend. I don't care if China installed a billion gigawatts of power. The question is, how much power does it really create, in real life. The numbers thus far, have not been impressive.

You can post here all the "claims" of what it will make until the end of time, or the forum closes. The only thing that really matters, is how much it actually makes. Not the claim.
