What the West needs to understand is that the decline and loss of the Middle Class in China is no different in relative terms than that which the West has experienced. Here is what is key, Chinas government doesnt care, so.in terms of military spending, it will continue and expand just as it did under Mao when millions starved, the difference is he could only dream of the global economic power China has today. See the decline in Germany and their economy. Like others that have embraced China,.Germany and their once unmatched high paid manufacturing sectors have been decimated. The only way to avoid WWIII is to weaken them so greatly that if war occurs in Taiwan or elsewhere and China loses, the unthinkable could happen and cracks in military support for the CCP emerge and/or powerful men are compromised. During times of war the opportunity to lure spies and powerful enemies from the other country is ironically much higher. Consider the targeted attack on the high ranked Russian general for instance.
