My question is whose "lifetime" are we using as a time standard ... we have mayflies here that only live a few hours ... or do they mean the "lifetime" of the panel ... maybe a dog's "lifetime", as measured in dog years ...
We should be able to get free quotes for roof-top installations ... go ahead and see if solar works for you ... free electricity even in Chicago; 6 hours a day every other day, if the snow isn't too deep; is still better than paying for electricity ... on the other hand, roof-top and utility-scale should be law in the Desert Southwest ... no matter the cost ... to power the desalination plants they need for drinking water ...

That's not what the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative says. It says the objective is to phase out all fossil fuel-generated electricity. So maybe before we talk about alternative means of transportation such as mass transit and other solutions, maybe you should familiarize yourself with the initiatives you so blindly and ignorantly support.
