Cato Institute: Immigrants Are a Net Positive

Platitudes and begged questions aren't any argument.

While I didn't say gubmint should dictate culture through force, we should certainly fight back against unadulterated crap like the "separation of church and state" lie, which has thrown the Bible out of State run schools as so much as a piece of literature with metaphorical morality plays.
Did you used to think this way? Back when you were a "libertarian"?
And while we're at it, are you good with regulations against pornographic material (whether you like the regulations or not) being flouted, just because said porn was uttered in a foreign language?
No idea what you're talking about here.
Just because someone is elected to office, does that automatically mean that they have to STFU about matters of rectitude and good taste?
They can talk about it all they like. Just don't try mandating your preferences via government coercion - aka laws.

One huge problem with public schools is the lessons either prepare you to work or go to college. Germany does it different. They will segregate students so that they are in a school suitable for one or the other. Math and science courses do little good for future carpenters or auto mechanics.
Which explains why so many posters here have no clue what "rate" means, or the science behind global warming.

Thanks for pointing that out.

legal immigrants are a net positive .. illegal immigrants that haven't been properly vetted before they sneak into the country aren't ..
Legal immigrants are a net positive?
Does that include the 19 hijackers from 9-11?

We shouldn't let in 50 million completely vetted legal immigrants either.
I will pass that on to the zero peole saying we should.

What's next? Are you going to argue we shouldn't destroy the Sun?

🙄

Enjoy lala land

As COVID showed, big changes, like suddenly adding 50 million people, means a huge impact on the current supply chain. Which would lead to all kinds of chaos.

When you want to understand Relativity, the top source was Einstein.

As to climate, best source is Dr. Richard Lindzen who debunks what politicians teach about climate. And he points out the reports from the quoted IPCC are by management, and not the scientists.

Is raising your taxes, in order to pay to catch, house and deport them, acceptable to you?
You bet.
It's a small price to pay for maintaining our culture and system of government instead of surrendering it to outsiders like Europeans are doing.

We have both the people and the laws that determine the level of immigrants can land here. Are you truly saying you do not agree with the migration limits set by Congress?

all existing computer models assume positive feedback — that is, that as the climate warms, the amount of water vapour held in the atmosphere will increase, leading to further warming. By contrast, Lindzen believes that temperature increases will actually cause more extensive drying due to increased areas of atmospheric subsidence as a result of the Iris effect, nullifying future warming

Who could agree, when congress has either been deadlocked and unable to, or unwilling to address immigration issues since the 1990's.
