Car Bomb Attack Outside Fertility Clinic Kills One Person

A bomb went off near the California clinic in what police said appeared to be an "intentional act of violence."

A large explosion destroyed a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, on Saturday and killed one person in what police are calling an “intentional act of violence.”

Firefighters responded to the scene at American Reproductive Centers at around 11 a.m. The explosion could be heard by people in at least a 2-mile radius, The Desert Sun reported.

Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills said in a statement that the explosion “appears to be an intentional act of violence.”

“There has been one fatality, the person’s identity is not known,” Mills added.

Palm Springs Mayor Ron DeHarte told the Los Angeles Times that he could “confirm it was a bomb in or near a vehicle parked at the building.”

It's been described by LE as an intentional act of violence.
Law enforcement is suggesting the deceased individual may be the suspect, though no motive or identity has been confirmed.
Once they get a name for the deceased, they'll probably discover their motivation. Btw, this is not an abortion clinic. Nothing like that at all. It's a clinic to help those having difficulty to become pregnant. Come to think of it, that could be the motive right there. Just speculating.

A massive boom that rocked downtown Palm Springs on Saturday around 11 a.m. appears to be a car explosion near the American Reproductive Centers clinic on North Indian Canyon Drive at East Tachevah Drive, Palm Springs police said around noon.

Lt. William Hutchinson said that there appears to be at least one fatality.

"Everything is in question, whether this is an act of terrorism," he said on the scene.

The explosion was heard and felt by people in at least a 2-mile radius and at noon...

A website for the office listed fertility treatments, such as in vitro fertilization and egg freezing, among its services and describes its work helping L.G.B.T.Q. couples have children. In a Facebook post, the clinic reported that none of its staff were harmed in the explosion and that the eggs, embryos and other materials in its lab were “fully secure and undamaged.”
