Can Voters Take Democracy Away Through A Democratic Vote?

The Constitution can be amended by a vote of the people's elected representatives. Or without a vote by Marxists.

We've had for several years now leftists saying they want the country to be Democratic Socialism, which basically means full blown socialism but we would still have regular elections to change that if voters didn't like it, you know, like they do in Venezuela and Russia. They have democracies and socialism with regular elections so people can change their minds if they decide they don't like socialism. This is what democrats want us to believe, that voters can, with a democratic vote, vote for "Democratic Socialism" and then if voters decide they don't like it, voters can then vote to change back or to something else.

Fast forward to now and Democrats are currently saying that if voters vote democratically to make Trump president again, democracy will be taken away. I guess the thought process is that Trump and the Republicans will then institute something I'll call "Trump Democracy" where Trump and the Republicans will institute their own version of "democracy" and yet the lefties are apparently warning us that when voters vote democratically for Trump, democracy will be taken away and we will never get it back, despite Democrats telling us that if we democratically vote for "Democratic Socialism" we can vote to take it away in future elections if we decide we don't like it.

So, the question is, if voters actually vote democratically in a free and fair democratic election for either "Democratic Socialism" or for a "Trump Democracy" would we be able to reverse what the voters voted for or not? In other words, if voting for Trump can take democracy away, isn't it the very same possibility if voters democratically vote for "Democratic Socialism"?
The details in your post do not matter

The short answer is yes. The problem with any democracy is that it is self defeating and nothing more than tyranny of the majority.

This is why democracy is not and has never been an accurate description of the US or it's government. The US is a republic. There was a few democratic elements in the structure of government but that does not make a democracy.

Since fuckup promptly blew it, I’ll try to address the question you pose.

Addressing just the American republic, the answer is almost always “no.”

The voters ordinarily don’t vote on laws. Their representatives do.

However, in our Federal system of government (the republic), the voters could, at least in theory, amend the U.S. Constitution sufficiently to terminate the republic and convert us into the undesirable “democracy” — which our libturd Democraps ignorantly believe we already are.

In that manner (which is deliberately made difficult), it would be theoretically possible to have the voters “democratically” terminate our republic.

Yes, both sides are in a race to see which party can take over complete control of the government through democracy. The only real question is, which side will get to the finish line first?

Which is my point and I think it could actually be accomplished without even changing the Constitution at all. All you need is a one party president, the House to be the same party as the president, and enough Senators of that same party being able to get rid of the Senate filibuster so that just a simple majority is needed in the Senate. No 60 vote majority would be needed for anything. Then they can change whatever federal laws (including voting laws) they wanted and add as many seats to the Supreme Court as necessary (they decide cases by feelings and emotions you know, not by the Constitution) in order to represent that same majority they have in the presidency, the House, and the Senate. Add to that the weaponization of federal law enforcement agencies and actually ALL government agencies to do their bidding, and wala, you have taken over the government forever with a peaceful coup, as Democrats have already tried with only Manchin and Sinema putting a stop to their coup attempt.

It was always inevitable. “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”

A "Democratic Republic" Is a Contradiction in Terms

Only voting on issues through referendums is democratic. Electing pre-owned candidates to do all the voting on issues is elitist tyranny.

Know-It-All Nobodies

Pathetic serfish authority-lovers have a desperate psychological need to feel superior to the majority. To cover up their slavishness and bitter hatred of their fellow Americans, they create an imaginary Higher Power and think that it loves them for betraying their own people.

Oh, stop it. The last time the Dems had a full house and a 60-seat senate took them two years just to pass ACA.

If the women commit enough because of abortion this time around, it could be a blue wash.

But I think we are going to have contest near equal majority minority rule for decades to come.

Voters tend to vote in divided government on purpose because they don't want either party in control. Gridlock is better than one party rule.

Not Democratic Socialism, Social Democracy.

They just tried it recently. If it hadn't been for Manchin and Sinema, Democrats would have been totally successful in taking democracy away.
