And lower quality as well. Our hospitals on the northern border are loaded with foreign patients, especially those from Canada. More than the foreign patients, we have even more foreign doctors. We pay our doctors the best money in the world.

I'm a patient at the world famous Cleveland Clinic. When you go to their downtown campus, you are the one that feels like a foreigner. Along with our other costs are malpractice insurance which is high to extremely high. We are a lawsuit happy country. Everybody is looking for that lottery ticket, so it's included in our healthcare costs.

Also because of these lawsuits, our costs are up because your family doctor is only a referral service. Years ago, you used to have one doctor. He took care of your ears, your eyes, your throat, you liver, your kidneys....... Today, unless it's a cold, flu or something like that, off to the league of specialists you go. Defensive medicine also includes every test under the sun, regardless if it's necessary or not.

You can't just say that government healthcare is cheaper, and would be if used here. It's apples and oranges.
