Can anyone identify the animal this came from?

I just looked it up, it is extinct. Caninia thrived from the Devonian to the Permian periods, worldwide.

Here's some that was found in northern Texas and is approximately 305 million years old...

Anyway. Good luck in your research.

For some reason the thread reminded me of this scene. Heh heh....

It doesnt resemble any of these.

Awe fer ***** sake!!!
I guess I'm going to have to find out what it is from a pro.
I thought for sure one of our USMB genius's would be able to identify the damn thing.

That sure would be cool!!
I havent been able to find a real match in all of my searches.

Sure seems the right shape. Problem is that it is in such bad shape being under the water so long and we don't have it in front of any of us to really hold and examine.

As a kid we used to go to Lake LBJ, which was named after Lyndon B Johnson.
The lake in those years was very remote. A friend of the family had a cabin on the southern side of the lake across from Pack Saddle Mountain.
On the Northern side was a very cool old cabin. It's long gone now but I do have a painting of it that was done by Rudy Tomjanovich's
Wife in around 72. She was the Wife of the Rockets coach.
I'll take a pic of it and post it.
