Noah's Ark and the Worldwide Flood are True Stories.

Noah’s Flood or Millions of Years, It Can’t Be Both

Either the rock record is the evidence of millions of years, or it is largely the evidence of Noah’s Flood. It can’t be both. If we believe the earth is billions of years old and shows no sign of a worldwide Flood, then that belief contradicts the biblical account of Noah. If we accept God’s testimony regarding the Flood, we cannot logically believe in millions of years.
The evidence:

Ya do know the Ark is visible
Yes of course.

One of them was built by Ken Ham and the other one just 'looks' like a rock.

The mderators are going to have to fix the poll answers. Or not? Whatever?

Never heard of Ken ham or some prop of an ark

I would stick to the KJV. The NIV version to me can be misleading with words it tends to use. I would suggest a full class on Apologetics and Hermeneutics before any discussion. Debates on scripture with people with no real understanding of it is a waste of time. As is a debate with some on evolution who has never read The Origine of Species.
I believe in the teachings of the KJV and I try and live by it. Studying the past like all science is filled with speculation.

They're not fixing the poll for me so I have to just guess.

It sounds like 3 backsliders who have lost their faith, to zero true believers?

And Ding is still pouting?

In the grand scheme of things does it really matter? Those who believe the story of Noah and the Flood were actual people and actual events are not harmed by their belief.

Those who believe the story of Noah and the Flood are allegorical teaching and not intended to be taken literally are not harmed by their belief.

Why not just allow people to see these things as they do and not criticize them for it?

So you're another NO.
Why not stop trying to cop out of answering the question asked in the poll?

This was Ding's idea, not mine.

IF the mods aren't going to fix the poll, they might as well just close the whole thing. Would you ask them too?

You don't seem to like the question.

I don't like presumption of what another person must believe in matters of religion.

I didn't answer the question in the poll because it wasn't pertinent to my post but my answer is I have no way of knowing. I wasn't there and neither was anybody else among those who wrote down the words in the Bible. So all we have is our faith as to what we believe the Bible is telling/teaching us. I personally believe the story of Noah and the flood is most likely allegorical teaching but I never argue with those who take it literally because in the grand scheme of things I don't think it matters.

I do believe the story came out of oral traditions which is how stories got passed down from generation to generation in those days. And almost every single culture of that time in that area has a flood story. This suggests that at some point there was a massive flood. And with people who had never traveled, had no science education of any kind, it probably appeared to cover the entire earth. And that's how it made it into the lore/traditions of the ancient people who over the generations would become modern day Jews.

So that's all you had to say!

You're a NO.

Stop trying to baffle the true and faithful believers with your bullshit!

Another 'NO' for me. It is a myth as there is no convincing evidence for it but I don't see how it matters either way.

Many ancient cultures have a similar story of a great flood.

This counts as evidence in my book as a great flood actually occuring.

In fact, to even know what a flood is, one would have to experience one first.

So, the only question is, how big was it?

Floods are a common phenomenon so it makes sense that every culture has knowledge of an especially big one that affected them. Floods also leave evidence behind, assuming they abide by natural laws and are not miraculous. Possibly the greatest flood in Earth's history took place in the Middle East when the Mediterranean Sea evaporated and was then refilled through Gibraltar. Funny that event isn't mentioned in the Bible.

There was a worldwide flood from the Younger Dryas impacts

Noah did build an ark

Jimmy Corsetti at BrightInsight has an interesting theory that Gobekli Tepi has a connection to Noah after his arrival in Turkey

I couldn’t decide if I wanted to vote Yes No or Yes No, so I just didn’t vote
