Does anyone else think its nuts that the people in California voted down every single one of the ballot provisions to reign in their government?

Actually NJ's election was about Republicans who felt betrayed by Forrester for moving too much to the left on key issues simply not voting and thus paving the way for Corzine, and yes I have a feeling Corzine is going to make me nastalgic for McGreevy

Voting for them directly is alot better than judges dictating the law. Ill say that anytime.

Doesn't mean it isnt pretty sad though. When the people start choosing things that will destroy their government and themselves they tend to get it.

There were several problems in the way Arnold went about this. The first problem is, nobody could have forseen how california voters would react.

Just exactly what Arnolds standing is, and his ability to sway peoples minds politically is still an unknown.

As it turns out, they tried too many proposals all at once. It attacked too many special interests, hence they all "ganged" up on Arnold. They outspent Arnold massively, they also started their propaganda to defeat the intitiatives many, many months ago. Arnolds campaign didnt have enough money to do it back when the opposistion started, and be able to continue up to election day. So they opted for waiting till the end and hope they could persuade people.

Too little too late.

Most Californians really didnt know what the props were about, and the little sound bites the opposistion had were the usual fear tactics propaganda from the left. It worked.

Dont doubt Arnold isnt gonna try again, but the next time they will have a better idea on how to go about it.
