I think China understands fully that there won't be cooperation from the US, regardless of what US regime is in power.
But the world is a different place now with the US not being able to influence as it did before. The US never did make friends, it tried to assert it's influence by bombing and killing. Now China can offer a peaceful choice.

You may not see it at the cash register when you go to Walmart but you will see it in your property tax bill, your transportation bill, your paycheck deductions.......the cost is hidden from plain view by design. The Dollar you are holding in your hand is rotting away as we speak..... In the mean time China has cleverly tripled their coal fired electric production to pass out cheap electricity to their industries while our industries are crippled by stupid shit like the Green new deal nonsense. This is an ingenious way to make it too expensive to produce the defense machinery we need for the Military.....I don't have to tell you what that will eventually mean.
