Business responds to $15 minimum wage demands

Trump supporters want to force manufacturers back to the US. That is no different than the $15 hour crowd.

That's the smart thing to do, which is why he's doing it. Of course the establishment loves the Red Chinese, and think they're corporations' new BFF's, never mind the wars and slaughter they're going to indulge in the second there is nobody to restrain them. All of the Party cadre leaders still worship Mao as a god, after all, and cheap, military controlled labor is what big business loves, not any different than slave owners or Commies at the end of the day. It's where both left wingers and right wingers agree and what they work for.

You are making the same mistake the $15 hour crowd is making. If manufacturers are forced into the US they will do more automation. That is what Carrier did.
The fifteen dollar an hour crowd prefers a positive multiplier effect to any socialism on a national basis from the right wing.

Do you want you mind in the same shape as Pic and DP's? If not put them on ignore.

So you think all the work on automating fast food jobs only began a few months ago when the push for a living wage started in earnest? Of course it didn't. When the equipment was ready for market, it started being used. Had nothing to do with how much the burger flippers were being paid.

It's been around in Europe for several years. Because the cost of labor is significantly higher over there, they started implementing automation earlier. Now that wages are rising here, and people don't want to pay more for their Big Mac, that technology is being transferred over here.

It's a very, very simple concept - businesses will opt for the cheapest option to produce the same level of output, whether that's capital or labor. If labor is too expensive, capital will be substituted for it.

You were warned this was going to happen. The article was from 2016.

Ex-McDonald’s CEO says raising the minimum wage will help robots take jobs

Leftists think business just magically happens.

A less than living wage is not tolerable. Doesn't matter how many robots are standing by.
/----/ Agreed. One must constantly improve oneself in order to have marketable skills to earn a "livable wage."
Some on the left prefer an, "easier standard". A fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage beats the cost of social services; it really is that simple.
/----/ Try and live in a Blue State on $15 an hour. BTW, get an education and some skills.

try it on less, right wingers.

Walmart Launches Small Army Of Autonomous Scanning Robots
Well Libs, business will always outsmart politicians, the government policy makers and you freeloaders who want $$$ for doing nothing.
MILPITAS (KPIX 5) – Artificial intelligence will soon be put to work at Walmart stores around the country. And it could be a game-changer for retail.

The company is launching a small army of autonomous scanning robots.

The robots are 6 feet tall, equipped with an array of lights, cameras, and radar sensors.

It then goes up and down each aisle on its own, at 2 to 3 mph, scanning the shelves for empty spots, and also checking the price tags.

Because the robot uses LIDAR and other video cameras, what the robot actually sees is very similar to what a self-driving car sees.

Trump has threatened to place tariffs on goods made in other countries and brought into the US.

Well, it can't stop, since it has no proofs to establish any sort of empirical standards with; Toro's superstitious twittery being a classic example of how inanity is supposed to replace facts and genuine theories. Astrology has more basis in reality than the vast majority of 'Economics' does. It mainly serves a a crutch for assorted fantasies and made up propaganda, again as we see in the standard right wing delusions and Toro's weird beliefs. 'Cuz, like, they're all lazy n stuff" isn't a response based on science, sorry to break this news to the trolls here.

You're "reasoning" is why economies like Venezuela occur.

You get an F.

Yes, we know you have no responses to the facts. That's been obvious from your first post in the thread. Venezuela is a prime example of what happens to dictatorships operated for the sole benefit of private corporations and their shareholders; they eventually revolt and go to shit. Same with any other feudal state run by corrupt gangsters, whether they call themselves 'businessmen' or generals.

Yes it does.

If the cost of labor is too high relative to productive output, labor will be replaced by automation.

It will accelerate when politicians peg the price of labor above its clearing price, as is happening at Walmart.

Yep. Right winger Milton Freidman's last estimate of what minimum income would be if adjusted for real inflation was around $44K a year. He's the guy who proposed the guaranteed income plan back in the late 1960's, as a means to reduce the size of government and bureaucracy. He realized there were no 'free markets' and babbling about how labor should be the sole 'free market' was idiotic in the face of monopolies and oligarchy and only going to bring disaster and conflict and increase the size the govt., hence his proposal for a guaranteed income direct to spenders instead of leaving people at the mercy of local bureaucrats and politicians deciding who got what and when was the best plan.

Left wingers don't like it because people would flee the Hoods and move to smaller towns, even out to the country, to get their kids away from gangs and political parties, particularly parties that promote pedophilia, like the democrats machines. No more block voting, no more barrios for criminal illegal aliens to hide in and be herded around by La Raza hoodlums, etc. It would come from the IRS, not the state govts., and thus no political strings or racist blocs.

you're either worth the money you are paid or you are not.

ain't much middle ground in that. if not, something else will be found for long term savings.

period.

What are the costs of 70% unemployment rates? How does cash circulate without payrolls and wages and keep the system moving and growing? Customers are necessary, and disposable incomes.
dunno. what is the cost of letting people with no ambition in life get more than a paramedic for asking if you want fries with that?

Yes, I know right wingers can never answer real questions, they have to impose silly definitions and fantasy anecdotes and pretend they're responses. So, you and the 10 or so 'productive' people out of the U.S. population, according to the legends in your own minds, will carry the economy into the future. Sure, sure you will. And, you will shit gold turds, and cure cancer, too. lol

Can I ask you a very simple question?

I can't name another poster on this forum like you. The vicious attitude combined with a complete dismissal of anything with which you disagree is unmatched.

How did you wind up to be so stupid and so angry at the same time?

Are you stupid because you are angry, or angry because you are stupid?

Another unhappy troll makes the usual sniveling post. The only angry tards here are you and the other kids who can't handle anybody disagreeing with their memorized rubbish, and revert to ad homs, whining, and other silliness as responses. lol go cry in some 'safe space' with the other Snowflakes.

Wow, I did not know Walmarts have robots patrolling the aisles. How much does a robot cost. I need a robot to clean my house.

The robot you described is scary. Robots have servos and understand a 4 axis servo and you got it made.

Quasi-related philosophy - An example of capitalist ethics and morals when it comes to wages, including the worst wages.

American's are biased, and frankly more than a little uneducated when it comes to this subject. In the grander scope of the world, rather than the biased American view, a lot of businesses actually put money where it is /most/ needed - and these days it's not "best spent" on American workers, but rather in third world countries where it can do the most for the most people. But of course the left will never admit to that, they're too outraged by their biased (spoiled) lifestyles to get that; socialism, even the most "innocent" "democratic" type inherently breeds selfishness and facts such as those discussed in the video make that blatantly apparent.

I happen to disagree with the above in principle, not based upon its "ethics" (which I understand and can agree with,) but rather because I'm more of a "national" capitalist rather than a "pure" or "global" capitalist - aka I tend to weight my opinions to the benefit of the nation rather than the benefit of the planet/all humanity. I also tend to weight the benefit of the nation over the benefit of the individual - AKA while I believe it is true that a minimum wage of $15/h is/would be beneficial to the individual American, I do not believe it is/would be beneficial to the nation as a whole; in fact I think it would be harmful to the nation.

In any event, I think it's on the nations government to protect their workers, and if they allow such things as sweat shops and child labor then they have obviously decided that such things "benefit's" outweigh the "presumed risks" (that we American's might attribute to it.) Certainly the workers themselves don't have issue with it, nor does their government, and by all accounts it's beneficial to both sides - which is in itself the root of capitalism's worth to societies.

why not be legal to existing laws regarding the existing concept of employment at will, for unemployment compensation purposes; at fourteen dollars an hour, simply for being unemployed in any at-will employment State.

That solves Labor's problem.

the right wing claims a minimum wage job is only temporary. social services should cost less than the minimum wage. thus, a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage.

and, if you want to lower costs, end the drug war.

/——/ Yes minimum wage jobs existed to give teens work experience and the ability to earn some money. The employers got cheap labor that they could teach basic job skills to like being punctual, responsible and completing tasks correctly. They were never intended to be lifetime careers. Libs turned it into a political football for public educated morons with poor education and lack of motivation. Part of the permanent underclass.
