RELATED LEGISLATION:

SECOND MOST BIPARTISAN SENATOR IN 2011: According to a Congressional Quarterly study, Senator Brown was the second most bipartisan senator in 2011, voting with his party only 54% of the time and in favor of President Obama’s position 70% of the time. Brown voted across party lines far more frequently than any other member of the Massachusetts delegation, and approaches each issue with an open mind and independent spirit. In fact, the only two pieces of President Obama’s 2011 jobs bill to become law were both initiatives introduced earlier by Senator Brown.

INTRODUCING AN ETHICS BILL TO PREVENT INSIDER TRADING IN CONGRESS: Brown introduced the first piece of legislation to ban insider trading by members and employees of Congress. On December 1, 2011, the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs held a hearing on Congressional insider trading at Brown’s request. Brown thereafter worked across the aisle to draft a bipartisan bill. President Obama signed Brown’s legislation into law on April 4, 2012. Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act (S. 2038).

JUDGING EVERY NOMINEE ON MERIT: Senator Brown has approached judicial nominees coming before the Senate with an open mind, and voted to confirm nearly 90% of President Obama’s nominations. Senator Brown believes that the president – regardless of what political party they belong to – has the right to nominate judges of his or her choosing, so long as they are qualified. Brown has opposed efforts from members of his own party to block Obama nominees, and has also voted for a measure that would reduce gridlock in the judicial confirmation process. Called the Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act, this bill would ensure that qualified government officials are not held up in Congressional red tape.

MAKING CONGRESS MORE ACCOUNTABLE: To increase Congress’ accountability, Brown co-sponsored a bill that would end Congressional pensions when a member of Congress is convicted of a felony while serving in office. Called the Congressional Integrity and Pension Forfeiture Act, this legislation would close a loophole that allowed former members of Congress to keep their pensions after committing public corruption crimes in another elected office.

The only way we will see change in this country is through electeds like Scott Brown and through people like the good Democrats I see at these rallies for the Senator. Mingling with these type of Democrats who are both intelligent and very much seeking what so many people are seeking in government. Honest leadership who will do what is right, not what is right for their party. Will we always agree on every issue? No. However I truly believe if we wrestle back this country from the loudmouth extremists and the partisan hacks on both sides we might actually make something happen and start some movement forward.

Maybe Lie-a-watha Warren can do a "no-rain" dance?

The wind and rain is wreaking some havoc here and we are being asked to stay off the roads when possible.

Another link to their shared plan to scrap the debate due to the weather.

Brown's statement

"It is simply not appropriate to go forward with a political debate when a disaster strikes," Colin Read, Brown's campaign communications director, said in a statement. "The focus for all of us before, during and after the storm needs to be on emergency response and disaster relief, not campaigns and politics."
Warren's statement

Elizabeth believes the focus now must be on public safety and ensuring people get the help they need during the storm and in its aftermath," Myers said. "With the concern for public safety and cleanup paramount, Elizabeth believes the debate should not be held tomorrow."

Chris from USMB's statement:

What a pussy.

Now help me here. Who was he calling a pussy?

Who are you calling a pussy, Chris? You're the biggest pussy on this forum always pissing and whining for other people to wipe your ass for you. If James Bond were a real man he'd punch you in the face for being the candy ass you are while using his photograph.

Lol, somehow you managed to make a Chris thread worthwhile! :clap2:

So Obama gets cheered for canceling his fundraising during the storm but Brown gets bashed for canceling something during the storm..

see how that works

Brown could easily reschedule the debate for Friday or Saturday, after the storm has passed.

He won't, though.

well being the good Republican that you are it's nice to see you bash you party, again:lol:
