BREAKING: Trump Reaches Potential Deal for Greenland

You are there, commenting from a "I hope everything he does fails" stance.

That's no way to be.
I hope he stops acting like a moron, given how much criticism he’s received from basically every rational corner of the globe on this one.

Again, nothing has happened and you have no idea what is up for negotiation.

But somehow you’re impressed?

With a military threat.

That's not negotiation.

It's the opposite.

This shoild not have to be explained.
Oh my.

Negotiators sometimes use threats as a tactic, knowing full well they will never follow through. The hope is that their counterparts don't know that.

But here I am, explaining things.

Military threats are not negotiation.

They are the opposite. They are for when negotiation fails.

That should not have to be explained to a functional adult. But Trump could shit on your face, and you would call it art.

According to a Truth Social post minutes ago, President Trump indicated that after a "very productive meeting" with NATO leader Mark Rutte, that he has reached a "framework of a future deal" for the island, currently a semi autonomous zone of Denmark.

Further, as a result, he stated he would not be imposing tariffs on the eight EU countries he saw as an impediment to the deal, slated for February 1st.

This is not a deal set in stone. Just a potential deal. Keep that in mind. Also keep in mind that Trump has accomplished more towards gaining the territory than any President in the past 150+ years.

I did a simple search a few moments ago that can help to explain why President Donald J. Trump believes that the USA owning Greenland will help the USA government to protect Americans, [and all eight billion of us for that matter].

I used the word "Arctic" to attempt to avoid journalistic bias.

"Is the Arctic becoming more strategically important to the USA?"

Yes, the Arctic is becoming significantly more strategically important to the U.S. due to climate change opening new shipping routes and access to resources, increased great-power competition (especially with Russia and China), and growing defense considerations like missile defense, leading the U.S. to issue new strategies focusing on enhanced military presence, alliances, and domain awareness in the region.

Key Drivers of Increased Importance:
  • Geopolitical Competition: Russia's military buildup and China's growing interest in Arctic resources and shipping lanes have elevated the region as a theater for strategic rivalry, prompting increased U.S. focus alongside NATO allies.
  • Climate Change: Melting ice makes the Arctic more accessible, opening shorter shipping routes (like the Northern Sea Route) and revealing vast natural resources, creating both economic opportunities and security challenges.
  • Economic Opportunities: Access to untapped natural resources, including rare earth minerals, and potential for increased trade via new sea lanes are major economic drivers.
  • National Security: The U.S. sees the Arctic as vital for homeland defense, with increased focus on domain awareness, missile defense (like Greenland's potential role in a "Golden Dome" system), and countering potential threats

Curious. He spoke from a position of strength. Economic and military.

But don't let me interrupt your liberal brown nosing.

Christ.
150 years.

How ******* backwards are you people?

We have to deal with this 24/7, all the time. Years gone, years to come.

Nothing is stable. Action over words.
We’ve given you that. Always.

But you people… like the “show”, dream about “winning” and think of it as a game.

Have your ******* soil invaded, civilians blown to pieces and cities turn to cobble and then get back.

******* Entertainistan, get a grip for once?!?

You’re ******* useless when it counts.

Can you explain what the whole point of this was? Seeing as how you seem to think you can divine what goes on in his mind.

Do the American people want to conquer Greenland?

15th post
I will let you figure that out, that is if you can manage to work past your preconceived biases.
It’s statements like this that put a lot of doubt in your claim to understand what is going on.

You won’t say anything until it’s over and then go “I knew it all along”.

Rutte had no power to negotiate for Denmark
