BREAKING: Thad Cochran Campaign busted for illegal vote buying operation

Nobody thought Republicans would win their supreme court case either. These allegations are heavy. Got news might not be the most reputable source, but they were the first one to break the news. They, and the pastor involved are making these allegations under penalty of perjury. I seriously doubt they would try to do this to discredit Cochran on purpose.

No, they're not. No one has been put under oath.

It's not "perjury" to lie to a newspaper.

Why would you be surprised that they would do this to discredit Cochran on purpose? Got News is a right-wing "tea party" site, and the "Reverend" was paid by Got News for the "story" - a "story" which sounds as perfectly fabricated as possible to be red meat for the base.

Use some critical thinking. If this "Reverend" had any credibility at all, don't you think another media outlet would have bought his story first? Do you think "Got News" was the first source he tried to sell it to?

They can be arrested for making false statements to police, Doc. If they have already reported this to law enforcement officials, they can under penalty of law be fined or imprisoned for making false statements to law enforcement officials. Seriously.

IF? If you had a brain you might be dangerous. IF? LOL

On top of everything, if this is proven wrong, I will admit I was wrong. That's all there is to it.

Fielder made the claim that Saleem called him a few times. The phone records will ultimately validate all of this. Police should issue warrants for both of the phones and do searches.

It's quite easy to corroborate, or disprove this story.

I doubt it will get to that point. Do you really think Saleem would have called him from his personal phone if he were doing something illegal? Do you think he is that stupid? Wow, Got News created the perfect storm!

Some people are really, really stupid. And, it can be possible Saleem had more than one phone, actually it is a possibility. In order not to get caught, all he would have to do is call from a number not associated with the phone he used with the campaign. Even still, a trace would make pin him if anything.

All you have to do is form a chronological timeline of the calls and texts. Oh, I can also tell you that they can trace the CB number on the phone via the text messages. That was an old flip phone Fielder was holding, they show the CB or "call back" numbers at the end of the message. There are plenty of ways an investigation can proceed. It relies on a simple process of elimination.

He gave what looks like his official campaign email address in that text.

I'm beginning to think those texts are likely actually from him, but in an entirely different context than what the "Reverend" is claiming. Notice the texts don't actually say anything about paying people to vote.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm almost certain that the campaign hired GOTV workers through that "Reverend", and that's what the texts are referring to.

Ahh, at least doc isn't insulting me... welcome to my ignore list pal.

Why so quiet? Looks like this might be a Tea Party victory after all. Cochran is toast.

Trying to feed us the cake before it's baked, again. You've developed a real bad case of premature condemnation. You keep saying your targets are well and completely screwed but you haven't finished one of them off yet.

And to think it was just yesterday TemplarKormac was summarily dismissing a story that included actual facts and references on the grounds it was linked to Mother Jones...lol...the hypocrisy never ends.

btw, it appears to me, correct me if I'm wrong, that 'gotnews' is a website with nothing else but this story on it.

Ahh, and as if you liberals are no different. Namely when they engage in the practice of identity politics...

If you weren't such a dumbass you would be aware of the fact that the phone number the text came from is recorded.

Did you see a phone number in that photo? Idiot? Anybody can send a text, take a picture of it and call it a smoking gun. You teapers are ******* stupid as dirt.

The sender's name is on the text. The phone included the name by cross referencing it with the phone's contact list. So the phone number is indeed included in the text, DUMBASS.

It appears that "Got News" is Dally Caller/Breitbart columnist Charles C. Johnson's new blog site that he's attempting to crowdsource.

And yes, it seems this is their first story.

He could use any phone...you are right. He could have used a pay phone...what would that prove. People are stupid...but I don't think THAT stupid. And again, numbers can be spoofed, people can call from truncated lines, callers can block their numbers....so call back numbers would probably lead to a dead end.

it's a win-win for Dems so why should they give a ****? Other than to enjoy the fratricide.

I say so because I re-read those texts, and realized that I've probably sent 100 or so texts and emails almost identical to those while working on campaigns, in the context of paying canvassers for knocking on doors.

Exactly...Stephanie too. She always dismisses sources as liberal trash.

Hypocrisy defined!

Given how badly Saleem's spelling was on these texts, I doubt he'd know how to spoof a cell phone number. If so, that would be a violation of telecommunications laws...

According to this site, and its eye witness quoted therein....Got News

According to it, some of Thad Cochran's thugs need to go to jail.

Of all places, Mississippi is liable to be in play for the Democrats in the Senate race this November.

Almost all Mississippi Republicans would like to see Harry Reid fall out with apoplexy right on the Senate floor in the middle of one of his lies.

But, a whole lot of Republicans are so angry, they will be voting for the Democrat this fall. Harry Reid just lies to them. Thad Cochran betrayed them, after they supported him for almost 40 years.

Got News is a for profit blog. This 8 the idiot behind it.

That's what I do for a living - I'm a field consultant on political campaigns. I've been doing it for nearly a decade.

I'm certain I've mentioned that to you before.

Which law specifically?
