Joe Manchin: Obama and Biden Destroyed "the Guardrails" That Make Peaceful Democracy Possible

Obama also admitted that he wanted single-payer nationalized health care.

no, he specifically said he didnt.

But that was opposed, so he pulled out the Heritage Foundation plan and they passed it, even though conservatives funded by that same foundation bitched about how terrible it was. Such was the opposition to anything Obama presented.

The simple reality here is that Joe Manchin is full of bs and he's certainly not one to be listening to.

He was made promises for votes and then the Democrats went back on those promises.

In case you were wondering where all the latest violence and hate started...... Just as I've said in here many times.

I would, however, recommend you look further back. To the Clinton Admin. Hillary was, in a big way, in on the radical turn the DNC took. Don't forget, she wrote her graduation thesis at Wellesley on Saul Alinsky.

These things don't happen by accident. Oh, and..... Say Good Bye to Antifa. They're gonna get taken down. Hard. The Spam has not yet begun to hit the fan. Believe it.

He also says that Biden was an anger junkie incapable of controlling his temper.

And that's before he lost most of his executive function to dementia.

Former Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin is opening up about the wrath he faced from former President Joe Biden -- and how the West Virginian was quietly pulling for Republicans to retake the Senate this past November to save the filibuster.

In his forthcoming book, "Dead Center," Manchin -- the former West Virginia governor who repped the Mountain State for more than 14 years in the Senate -- accused prominent Democrats of undermining the system of checks and balances for more than a decade.

"I don't say this lightly, but under the leadership of President [Barack] Obama and Majority Leader Harry Reid, and later President Biden and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Democrats have systematically tried to weaken the very guardrails that have protected our democracy for generations -- all in the name of advancing their agenda," wrote Manchin, 78, in an excerpt obtained by Punchbowl News.

Manchin, who opted not to seek a third full term in 2024, often found himself at loggerheads with Democratic leadership over his concerns that the far left had too much sway in the party.

In his final term, Manchin and fellow Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona took a public stance against doing away with the Senate's 60-vote legislative filibuster.

In 2022, Manchin recounted, he faced pressure from Schumer to weaken the filibuster to pass election legislation.

"Schumer wasn't interested in debate or persuasion," Manchin wrote. "He wanted a spectacle. He wanted a vote he could weaponize, a moment he could broadcast to the radical left to prove his loyalty. This wasn't about governing or principle. It was about power."

...

Turning to Biden, Manchin knocked the 46th president for having a "very bad temper," though the West Virginian apparently was willing to give as good as he got.

In early 2021, during negotiations over the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, Manchin says he called out Biden as "reckless" for "sending a f--ing check to everyone."

The American Rescue Plan was blamed in part for annual inflation hitting 9.1% in June 2022 -- the highest rate in nearly 40 years.

...

"When the party pushes hard on woke ideology, DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion] mandates, and other social agendas, it creates unnecessary divisions, alienates everyday citizens, and moves us further away from the commonsense middle ground where most Americans actually live their lives," he argued.

He says he kept waiting for the moment to change parties, but only now realizes he should have done so in 2016.

Meanwhile, President Trump confirms that the antifa killer was radicalized by left-wing extremists on the internet, and discusses declaring antifa a terrorist organization and using RICO to bankrupt its funders.

Trump is out of touch with the real America.

I noticed old Joe didn't say a word when the Senate went nuclear...These MAGATs call themselves conservatives, but want to change the system; that is not conservatism.

Incorrect.

In 2003, Obama said he supports a single-payer health care system, and that the only reason we ā€œmay not get there immiediatelyā€ is ā€œbecause first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the Houseā€ – which, of course, we have:

ā€œI happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program…I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.ā€ – Barack Obama, 2003

Look, I'm not going to continue arguing with people who believe both sides are the problem when that's not true. Nor am I going to continue arguing over some shit Joe Manchin had to say. He's still mad because Democrats didn't bow to him.

That's right. He quit because he was going to get beat. The people in W. Virginia were pissed at him. This is a man who drove his yacht to DC and lived in it, then voted against things to help the poor in his own state.
He's so full of shit it's hard to believe. He's on the tube now trying to whitewash his buddy Trump's agenda.

He's got a new book out which will be useful for lining a litter box & that's it.

I will not waste my money buying it. Manchin is rich, and we've heard enough from him.

That's a lie.
Well, he certainly didn't stop mass illegal immigration, and he ignored inflation until it was out of control. But he did respond to Putin's aggression in Ukraine—that's better than what Obama did.

The reality of the situation is different. Biden did not ignore inflation, and the inflation he got was handed t him due to Trumps mismanagement of COVID. The entire world experienced inflation, but you idiots keep acting like Biden made it happen. Furthermore:

It has been said that when Obama left office border crossings were at a more than 3-decade low.

ā€œIn fiscal year 2017, the last year of the Obama administration and the first of Trump’s, 303,916 migrants were arrested by the Border Patrol. This was the lowest level in more than three decades. The Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations had worked hard to tackle the problem of illegal migration through substantial increases in border security staffing, improvements in technology, innovations in strategy and improved security coordination and assistance to Mexico. Coupled with improved economic conditions in Mexico, these administrations were hugely successful in deterring and breaking the cycle of illegal crossing: Unlawful Mexican economic immigration, which had historically been the primary immigration enforcement issue at the border, dropped nearly 90 percent between 2000 and 2016.ā€

So how did border crossings go from a 40-year low to a crisis in 4 years? Alan Bersin, former Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection/Assistant Secretary and Chief diplomatic officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Nate Bruggeman, Fomer Policy Staff for the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection, and Ben Rohrbaugh former Director for Enforcement and Border Security at the National Security Council, wrote an article published in Politico on April 5, 2019 titled: Yes, There’s a Crisis on the Border. And It’s Trump’s Fault. In this article, the authors argue that President Trump's singular focus on constructing a border wall—regarded as a vanity project—rather than addressing and reforming the asylum system contributed to the challenges at the border witnessed during President Biden's term.

ā€œDespite the administration’s attempts to shift blame for the chaos, make no mistake: It is Donald Trump himself who is responsible. Through misguided policies, political stunts and a failure of leadership, the president has created the conditions that allowed the asylum problem at the border to explode into a crisis. The solution to our current border troubles lies in reforming the U.S. asylum system and immigration courts and helping Central America address its challenges—not in a ā€œbig beautifulā€ wall or shutting down the border. Yet effective action on these issues has been missing. And the president has now so poisoned the political well with his approach that there is little hope of meaningful congressional action until after the next election. Unless the administration changes course, the immigration crisis will only continue to worsen.ā€

These words were written nearly 2 years before Biden was sworn into office on January 20th, 2021.
