They are correct. The mRNAs efficacy drops off at about 10%/month. Natural antibodies from COVID infection are pretty much gone at 180 days. Boosters will be needed and tailored to the Peruvian strain (lambda) since it is more contagious and possibly more viral (lethal). It probably will become the dominant strain in a few months. It's already in each state.

It appears that Delta has the ability to infect vaccinated individuals more so than the earlier variants (especially the Pfizer vax).

BUT...that early study doesn't show that someone vaxxed and infected becomes sick or dies in any greater numbers because of Delta.

So as stated when the vaccines came out...you may get infected (40% protection against that as opposed to ZERO for unvaxxed) but the chance of becoming very sick or dying are still very low
