And then nominating a new FBI director, Attorney General, and certainly US Attorneys who all said they would be going after the Bidens (including Hunter).

Essentially Trump declared he would be using all the powers of the federal government against Hunter and others.

But as a presidential abuse of power, the USSC said he would have absolute immunity for.

So in this case, issuing Hunter a pardon was 100% appropriate.

What you leave out is that the Vice President, has absolutely no authority to do anything except be president of the Senate, cast tie-breaking votes, and count the EC votes on January 6th.

Any authority the VP has beyond that, has to be with the permission of the president.

He'd spent decades using family connections to get himself appointed to things like the Amtrak board where he pulled down big money for no show jobs. Hunter has been cashing in on the Biden family name from the moment he graduated from college and his father has been enabling that behavior throughout it all!
