If they had been allowed to go as soon as the attack started, the ambassador would probably be alive.

Actually, on page 8 of your second link, it says that they don't know exactly when they got there, but because there was resistance and they needed to get weapons, it took them 42 min. to make it to the compound AFTER the CIA station chief let them go.

When the sanctions were lifted, the assets were no longer frozen, and we had to give them their money back. It was part of the Iran deal. We lift sanctions, they stop refining uranium.
