"Should we send in the necessary ground troops to finish off ISIS, or not?
It is currently estimated it would take about 30,000 to 40,000 troops to do so."
That's the problem: there is no 'finishing off' ISIS using conventional military ground forces.
As soon as such a force arrives in the Region, ISIS fighters will simply melt away, return home to their towns and villages – or return to Europe – to carry on an insurgency campaign of terror attacks and killing American troops with sniper fire and IEDs, just as occurred in Iraq and Afghanistan.
And when the Americans finally leave, ISIS will reconstitute and the terror, war, death, and destruction will start over again.
The solution to ISIS in particular, and terrorism in general, will not be found on a conventional military battlefield.
