Here is one excuse. Most of the crime in Atlanta is committed by poor people. Most poor people in Atlanta are black.

And a poor white person who lives in a rural part of Georgia isn't going around robbing his neighbors who each own 500 acres. It's not like in a big city.

One out of every 4.5 residents of Atlanta lives in poverty.

When a white woman is murdered, it's a rare thing and a big deal. When a black woman in a high crime neighborhood is murdered, it's sort of not a shock. And no one will talk to the police. And if it turns out she's in a gang or a drug dealer, forget about it.
