So the working class Americans in that area are forced to send their kids to a dumbed-down school where half the kids don’t speak English. Their rents are driven up as the illegals create demand. And for those who own modest homes, the values are depressed.

As someone who is sponsoring a legal immigrant, I have to call bullshit. The system is so fouled up right now, and they keep making the fence higher for those who want to do it the right way.

To sponsor my wife (who was previously granted asylum), we have had to pay $4000.00 in legal expenses and fees, and submit over 200 pages of documentation. This is simply a bad system, and not one that my grandparents had to go through when they immigrated here 100 years ago.

Yeah, that sounds like the real estate market is corrupt and has been a tool of racism for generations, so that's not saying much.

Here's the thing. Before WWII and the government got involved through things like FHA and VA and such, most people couldn't get their own homes or very nice ones.

When I appraised homes in the SF Bay area of CA, I saw myself illegals buy homes and convert garages to living quarters and have more illegals live in the home. I saw it a lot in San Jose, CA. Primarily Mexicans doing it.
