When the US pulled out of Afghanistan the first time the country was completely lawless.. carjackings, dope smuggling, kidnappings for ransome... and rape. Women weren't safe outside the home. The Taliban were young war orphans and they went too far, but Afghanistan was safer and so were women. The Taliban is older and more mature... Women have rights in Islam. Blinken is right.
