Okay, let's look at this ball of crazy.
the polls showed Hillary would win in a landslide
NO, the RCP average before the election had her winning nationally by 3 points. She won nationally by 2 points. I actually do think that the perception that she had this in the bag probably hurt her, as she wasn't personally popular, and a lot of people figured someone else would carry the water.
REALITY AND THE LEFTISTS MINDSET ARE INCAPABLE BECAUSE WHEN A LEFTIST DOESN'T GET THE OUTCOME THEY WANT THEY CHANGE THE NARRITIVE
Guy the election was stolen or are you saying that a waste of human breath actually get more votes than Obama
Um, yeah. Easily.
Let's look at some factors.
The Electoral Turnout in 2012 was 58%. The turnout in 2020 was 67%.
Why? Well, first, no one wanted a repeat of 2016. 2012 was a low turnout election because Romney was trailing Obama so badly and even Republicans weren't thrilled with the Weird Mormon Robot.
Secondly, BOTH SIDES spent a lot of money on voter turnout. Election spending in 2020 was close to 6 BILLION dollars for just the Presidency, it was close to 14 Billion for all elections.. Election spending for 2012 was a mere 1.9 Billion. Wow, if you spend seven times as much convincing people to do something, more of them are going to do it.
Thirdly, there was a lot of enthusiasm in this election. I live in a moderate suburb of Chicago. Most Republican but we have some Democrats holding office as well. Obviously, Biden was going to Win IL, and Dick Durbin didn't have much of an opponent. Even though Joe Walsh held the Congressional Seat 8 years ago for my district, the REpublicans didn't even put up a candidate. The incumbant Democrat beat the Libertarian Placeholder 80-20. Most of the county offices were unopposed Republicans.
ANYWAY, despite all that, the line around the polling place was the longest I had seen in 16 years of voting in this district. I had to wait in line for something like an hour and a half to vote.
hell president Trump should have gotten 100 million of the 150 million-plus gun owner vote.
Except we don't have 100 million gun owners. Only 21% of the population owns guns. Of those, only about 3% are the crazy gun fetishists. The guy who has a gun in his closet he bought in the Oughts and takes out target shooting once a year isn't going to care about the gun issue that much. He doesn't want to own a AR-15 with a 100 round clip.
The recession was caused by democrat state governors shutting down their states nothing President Trump did caused the recession.
Except for fumbling the response to Covid.
Every other country had a national lockdown until countermeasures could be put into place. Most of them had very little economic impact from Covid, and not nearly as many deaths as we had.
Ironically, Covid could have been Trump's shining moment. Kind of like 9/11 was Bush's shining moment and OKC was Clinton's shining moment. All he had to do was show leadership. Instead, it became about him.
