Who is Paul Ingrassia, trump's nominee to head the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, and why does it matter?

I still do have faith, mostly. Though I admit my faith has been eroded after seeing Bove get confirmed and seeing the hackery of Eileen Cannon.

I would have loved to see the justice system get the opportunity to work against trump in the way of trials for his two criminal indictments. But the country was robbed of that opportunity by lawfare.

The good news is that there will be more trials. The bad news (for you) is that the Democrats will be the ones in the dock.

The 34 bullshit "felonies"?

The $500,000,000 "fine" for a "non-crime"? Letitia James has her own "mortgage fraud" crime to deal with.

Add in the two assassination attempts. Trump has some people really scared.

Trump nominates former podcast host with history of inflammatory comments for top ethics job

Ingrassia is a far-right former podcaster and commentator with a lengthy list of incendiary comments. He has called for Jan. 6 to be declared a national holiday to honor the “peaceful protest against a great injustice affecting our electoral system” and dismissed the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel as a “psyop.”

He has worked for and praised “manosphere” influencer Andrew Tate, who’s facing rape and human trafficking charges, calling him an “extraordinary human being.” He has referred to Tate as “a dissident of authoritarianism” — a title he has said applies as well to white nationalist Nick Fuentes, the rapper Ye and Trump.

He has also called for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to be jailed, and referred to former Vice President Mike Pence as an “FBI asset.”

So, he's a flamethrowing entertainer with a podcast who trump wants to head up an office that does this sort of thing.

Office of Special Counsel launches investigation into ex-Trump prosecutor Jack Smith

Federal officials are investigating former special counsel Jack Smith after President Donald Trump and other prominent Republicans have alleged that his investigations into then-candidate Trump amounted to illegal political activity.

The U.S. Office of Special Counsel, an independent federal agency, confirmed to NBC News on Saturday that it’s investigating Smith for alleged violations of the Hatch Act, a law that prohibits certain political activities by government officials. Trump and his allies have not presented specific evidence of wrongdoing.

The OSC is different from the type of special counsel’s office formerly headed by Smith, who was appointed by the Department of Justice. The independent agency lacks the authority to bring criminal charges and prosecute individuals who violate the Hatch Act, but it may seek disciplinary action for a federal government employee, such as removal from the civil workforce, or refer its findings of Hatch Act violations to the DOJ for investigation.

Why was it necessary to get Sen. Cotton to make a formal request of the OSC to investigate Smith? Because Ingrassia's nomination is understandably tied up in the Senate. I assume Repub senators are asking themselves if they are up for confirming another unfit nominee in servitude to Don.

The idea Smith's indictments were nothing more than election interference insults the intelligence of every thinking person walking the planet. Anyone who questions such an assertion need only to read them. The irrefutable facts speak for themselves as they did when they convinced the grand juries who voted to indict trump.

Don, in an attempt to whitewash history, just had references to his impeachments removed from an exhibit at the Smithsonian museum. Now he's going to try to revise history once again. Turning his crimes against those who tried to prosecute him for them.

My question to his supporters is...................can you see this transparent ruse for what it is?
Relax, Berg.

If the libs are innocent, they will all get full Due Process and every opportunity to clear their names.

The 34 bullshit "felonies"?
The thing that makes them "bullshit" for trumples is trump was convicted of them. The rest of the world recognizes he is a justly convicted felon.

I wish trump had taken that advice rather than going to extreme measures to make sure his trials never began. But then he knew his name wouldn't be cleared so..........

Any thoughts on trump's nomination of a man like this to lead the OSC?

We're betting that the "law" will be upheld and that the bullshit felonies will be overturned on appeal.
Not that it matters, voters already voted that they were unjust.

You think the voters could competently weigh in on whether trump was justly convicted? You think they had that kind of knowledge on the details of the case? You're nuts. Voters voted for trump because he told them he would fix inflation. He failed to so.

After a Lag, Consumers Begin to Feel the Pinch of Tariffs

There are growing signs that President Trump’s levies are filtering through to consumer prices, as companies exhaust options for keeping them stable.

No, they are bullshit because they WERE bullshit. Invented crimes to attack a political opponent, just like a third world shithole.

And you little cultists lapped it up because you are nothing more than lapdogs.

Wrong dude, dude.

Ingrassia graduated from Cornell Law in 2022, joined conservative think tank The Claremont Institute later that year, became a leader in the New York Young Republican Club, and then went on to be a frequent presence at Trump rallies and Mar-a-Lago in 2023 and 2024.

He’s currently working as the White House liaison to the Department of Homeland Security and was formerly the administration’s liaison to the Justice Department, where he’d been seen walking the halls, touting the president’s agenda and telling people he was acting as the “eyes and ears” of the White House.

He a sycophant, like all the rest in the regime.

That he gives loons like you an advanced case of butthurt is very often good enough for me.

Though not always, most of the time....
