Did Biden just throw Taiwan under a bus?

You have a bad habit of posting unsubstantiated fiction from anonymous sources. Work on that. But thanks for the meme, I guess.

Trump speaks with Taiwanese president, a major break with decades of U.S. policy on China

Trump signs U.S.-Taiwan travel bill, angering China

Declassified note shows U.S. intent to defend Taiwan against China

PS: This thread is about Biden, not Trump, and definitely not fictional stories and fake news about Trump which gullible people like yourself have swallowed.
“Who the fuck is Alex Wong?”

Um, the two positions are not contradictory, and have been essentially our policy since 1979. We will defend Taiwan, but we still see it as part of "one China".
so you are saying the USA will go to war with China to defend Taiwan. So why does dementia joe say he does not support Taiwan's independence. how is that not a contradiction

Because declaring independence would be a clear provocation that would cause a Chinese invasion.

Just like the NATO charter says we will defend any member from an attack, but they aren't obligated to support attacks by NATO countries on other nations. This is why NATO was all in on Afghanistan (the US was attacked) but most of them whiffed on Invading Iraq (because Iraq hadn't attacked anyone and probably didn't have WMDs.)

Now, personally, I don't think we should go to war over Taiwan under ANY circumstances. It's simply not worth a nuclear war because a bunch of Chinese can't agree on what kind of government they want.

But Biden's Policy has been our policy since 1979 and arguable since 1949. We think there is only ONE China, but we will defend Taiwan from aggression.
