Biden: ‘We do not support independence’ for Taiwan

President Joe Biden had a blunt message after voters in Taiwan elected a new president Saturday: “We do not support independence” for Taiwan.

Biden’s words, delivered as he departed for Camp David, reinforced the administration’s position to Taiwan’s new president Lai Ching-te, who has faced strong opposition from China over his calls for independence.

Shows who Owns Biden. This is alnost a go ahead message to China.

Biden is a paid Chineese hack.

Two years ago, Biden said that Taiwan's independence is up to Taiwan....

Weak Biden gets weaker. He's not only a threat to America's Democracy, but even Taiwan's.

Spratly Islands, Pressure on South Korea, Pressure on Japan, Move into Indochina.
Yeah, right.

Trump’s February 2017 phone call with Xi marked the beginning of a dynamic between the two leaders, one that would shape U.S.-China engagement significantly over the next three years. Xi learned that if he really wanted Trump to do something, all he had to do was ask him for a personal favor. Xi called on these favors liberally, using them to keep Trump out of several issues China deemed sensitive and playing Trump against his own government.

“Taiwan is like two feet from China,” Trump told the senator. “We are eight thousand miles away. If they invade, there isn’t a fucking thing we can do about it.”

refute something.

Oh wait! You can't. Never mind.

If Trump had said those words publicly, he would have been abdicating forty years of American commitment to aid Taiwan in its defense, which is written into U.S. law, and maintain the status quo that has kept the peace between Taiwan and China. The senator was speechless. This is what Trump really believed. He just didn’t give a shit. Nobody could know—although by that point in his presidency, it’s possible that nobody would have been surprised.
I did already. Showing increased arm sales to them and increased presence in the disputed area under Trump.

Now back to Biden throwing Taiwan under a bus.

You Morons yell Trump on everything. Biden is in charge now or are you too stupid to know this, or just making excuses of why he sucks.

Spartly Islands- Who cares?
South Korea is one of China's biggest trading partners. They won't fuck that up.
They really can't put any pressure on Japan. They don't have the naval resources to threaten the US/Japanese Alliance.
They tried to move into Vietnam in 1979. It didn't go well.

What senator?

A quote from a fictional book?

A misquoted private conversation?

Conversely, Biden's statement was public. He had an opportunity to congratulate the Taiwanese people, but he threw them under a bus, and he proved that he was lying two years ago when he said that Taiwan's independence is up to the people of Taiwan.

Did you notice that I provide sources from verifiable links? Where's yours?

All the oil under it? Plenty of people.

They have an excess population of males, and the best way to get rid of that problem is a war.

Did Trump ever say we’d defend Taiwan? Did he ever publicly support independence?

Oil is an international commodity. China has the resources to bring it up, Vietnam does not.

China has fairly big military problems.

For instance, a lot of air force units have been pilfering jet fuel to cook their hot pots. Corruption in the Chinese military establishment is widespread, and they are nowhere near ready to invade anyone.

The only Chinese aggression I'm worried about is my wife hogging the blankets.

Im about done with your constant whining. Every answer is Trump.

Seek mental help dipshit
You started a whiny thread without understanding the longstanding US policy towards China that hasn’t changed.

But it never bothered you before because you are just a tool.

Bye. Im done with your trolling TDS ass.

That has been official US policy all along.

No. The US one-China policy has always been based on intentional ambiguity. We treat the question of Taiwan's status as being undetermined at this time, and prefer a diplomatic resolution to the matter, but we are otherwise indifferent to the outcome. We acknowledge the PRC's position but we don't affirm their position. We maintain an insistence on a diplomatic resolution to the question, and toward that end we are willing to protect Taiwan militarily if the PRC attempts to resolve the matter through violence.

What Biden is saying would be a departure from this policy of intentional ambiguity. And it would be a departure from his own Secretary of State who has reaffirmed official US indifference.

You have a bad habit of posting unsubstantiated fiction from anonymous sources. Work on that. But thanks for the meme, I guess.

PS: This thread is about Biden, not Trump, and definitely not fictional stories and fake news about Trump which gullible people like yourself have swallowed.
