Biden obviously cut a deal with the Taliban

When trump left office he reduced our troop level to only 2500 regular troops in Afghanistan. Sure Joe could have reversed course and re-invaded with 10 of thousands of troops to fight back the Taliban. Sure pal, sure.

And Joe could have left the troop level as it was at 2500. There were no US servicemembers killed during Trump's last 11 months, Biden could have lived with the status quo that Trump gave him, and he also could have changed the parameters of the agreement to be more to his liking. Had he left things as they were when he took office, we wouldn't have this massive fuckup that we have now. Or, he could have done the pull-out later in the winter months when the Taliban doesn't do much, but no, he had to pull-out our military in August, which is the Taliban's peak season for violence. And he coulda made sure our military equipment was removed AND got our civilians out 1st. But no, Biden wanted a political win in time for 9/11, to take the attention away from his fuckup on the southern border.

When Trump left office the status quo was we were leaving Afghanistan by May 1st. The Taliban was honoring a cease fire with the Americans since the Withdrawal date was set back in 2020. They have apparently agreed to extended that to Sept 1, which was announced back in April when Biden confirmed he supported the withdrawal. Why do you ignore the collapse of the Afghan Army as the main cause of the disorder in the withdrawal? Isn't that our biggest failure in the bipartisan Nation Building exercise that both parties want to ignore?

Trump has made it clear he made it so there was no choice for the new administration.
Bull fuken shit.

What Trump said was not some binding law you ignorant muddarucker.

Joe got out because joe wanted to get out and he wanted the credit for getting out.

That is the reality of the situation and your inability to grasp that makes you look even dumber than you probably are.

There were no combat deaths in the last 2 yrs. in Afghanistan.

Yes, Biden definitely could have lived with the status quo....but biden thought he would be considered a hero for being the one to end it all.

Excellent analysis and always good to see someone on here with some analytical skills as well as just good common sense.

You think Biden must conform to what Trump says???
In a way, yes I do, unless Joe wanted to get more American Service men and women killed in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban. Had Joe decided not to go, they would be attacking us.
What Trump said was not some binding law
The majority of Americans want us out.
Joe got out because joe wanted to get out

As did most of the country. That's the reality of the situation.

What caused the collapse of the Afghan Army was a combination of several factors.

I am sure a lot of books will be written about how and why that happened.

The main one being the grand offensive of the Taliban.

What you are missing, what you do not understand is that the Taliban offensive was provoked by Biden's stupidity.

Announcing an un-conditional withdrawal of American Forces.

Thus then the Taliban realized very quickly they were no longer bound by the deal they made with Trump.

After the stupid announcement by biden(which ammounted to un-conditional surrender of Afghanistan) they understood that Afghanistan lay at their feet and was wide open for plunder.

They would have been as dumb as biden not to take advantage of what biden offered by his surrender.

Hence they had everything to win and nothing to lose by grabbing Afghanistan as quickly as they could.

By doing that they got lots of war booty; all that American equipment, China's blessings and future financial investments, the humiliation of America, the acquisition of lots of teens for sex slaves, huge financial rewards, the opportunity to execute their Afghan enemies and so on and so forth.

All made possible by Biden's stupidity.

Leaving American troops there was not the status quo. The lull in fighting is based on the withdrawal agreement, not on our continued presence.
American Forces in Afghanistan were a gurantee that Afghanistan would be under our control thus maintainig the status quo.

The lull in fighting was a result of Trump's deal; yet no matter how much fighting was going on the status quo was not threatened due to the might of our military power.

The level of fighting went up and down for 20 yrs. depending on different factors; the time of year etc.

The taliban would come and go from their safe haven in Pakistan and thus had the ability to harass Afghanistan but not the ability to over-run it as long as American forces were committed to defending Afghanistan and thus the status quo.

Trump had already withdrawn over 10 thousand troops and left Biden with 25 hundred, and a deadline to remove the remain troops, keeping the peace with the Taliban, of May 1st.

Biden wisely extended the deadline in April and the Taliban wisely extended their part of the agreement by not killing our soldiers. Flights are continuing out right now.

Biden did nothing wisely....quite to the contrary--the biden regime came in 9 months ago.

Since Biden threw Trump's deal out the window he had to make a decision himself on what to do; whether to get out or to stay.

He had 2500 troops but could have added to that level at any time if he felt they were needed to maintain the status quo.

However biden decided to get out and unlike Trump he declared we were getting out un-conditionally...thus leaving the taliban to do whatever they wanted to do.

Trump had placed conditions on the taliban; conditions they had to meet if we were going to leave; thus they knew very well they had to abide by Trumps demands on their behavior or we would not withdraw.

There is no way in hell they would have launched their grand offensive as long as President Trump was in power.

Unfortunately the election was stolen; a weak old man with a low i.q. and a addled brain took over--thinking he would be a hero for ending the war and not understanding at all how he had essentially folded his hand by announcing a unconditional withdrawal thus giving the Taliban the opportunity to fuk him and afghanistan.

Thus we now see a fuked afghanistan and a fuked American President who finally realizes though much too late what a mess he created.

"Unconditionally?"

You truly want to make Afghanistan the 51st state, don't you?
