It really saddens me to know how many of my republican brethren support the DP even though they acknowledge and admit innocent people have been executed. I cannot, in good faith, support such a horrible act.

They dont care.
They consider the innocent to be collateral damage.

There is absolutely NOTHING ok about this. Even if just one, you have now murdered an innocent person. You are no better than the person you put on death row.

At least the innocent person was allowed to live out their natural life instead of being murdered. It's certainly not good either way, but one is the lesser of the two evils.

It highlights the craziness of having the Presidential Pardon. I have no idea who these people are. But were they any less guilty on 12/23/2023 or 12/23/2022???? Nope. Why didn't he pardon them then? Clearly the answer was that it is a political calculation. Keep in mind he didn't overturn their convictions or set them free (the way Trump is going to) but they lived under the threat of lethal injection for years for no reason.

If you kill someone purposely who is innocent, it is murder. period. Premeditated murder. Because if they are innocent, they are victims just like the rest of the people murdered. The legal system is not perfect and absolute, like the DP is. You cannot kill an innocent person and justify it. I don't care what a dozen imperfect people who don't even want to be there in the first place, said about this person.
