In a Republic, actually
'After a year of rambling President Biden, muted Joe Biden, unconvincing-bipartisan-cheerleader Joe Biden, on Thursday we got feisty Joe Biden, pugnacious Joe Biden and MAGA-condemning Joe Biden in a speech in Rockville, Md., marking his start to midterm campaigning. For all the hand-wringing about his negative polling (which seems to be improving) and his drag on Democratic candidates, Biden reminded us how he got elected in 2020. When he gets his dander up, he can be an effective campaigner.

Biden seemed to channel Harry S. Truman, who, to a voter shouting “Give ’em hell, Harry!” declared, “I don’t give them hell. I just tell the truth about them, and they think it’s hell.” And did Biden ever give it to the MAGA radicals.

“In 2020, you and 81 million Americans voted to save our democracy,” he reminded the crowd. “That’s why Donald Trump isn’t just a former president. He is a defeated former president.” As for the midterms, Biden declared, “Your right to choose is on the ballot this year. The Social Security you paid for from the time you had a job is on the ballot. The safety of your kids from gun violence is on the ballot, and it’s not hyperbole, the very survival of our planet is on the ballot.” He added, “Your right to vote is on the ballot. Even the democracy. Are you ready to fight for these things now?”

Biden reveled in recalling how Democrats took on Big Pharma, Big Oil and National Rifle Association. But his strongest words came in a blunt assault on the MAGA movement, something Democrats and other democracy defenders have been pining to hear.'

President Biden is correct.

Truman?

The guy who wanted to fight WITH Hitler instead of against him?

The guy who committed the two most horrendous acts of terrorism in human history?

Democrats get wet for this kind of stuff I guess...

Now he's like Harry Truman... did Truman crash the economy, touch kids & wear a dirty diaper in his basement 80% of his time in office?
Unless Joes about to unleash nukes too, I don't see it

President Biden is correct.
Joe Biden has been channeling a radish for the past thirteen and a half years.

President Biden is correct.
We are all stuck with demented Brandon. Don’t kid yourself.

Truman's 1st 2 Secretaries of State had mental issues. i would say Buttigieg and Rachel Levine have mental issues!

Truman's Secretary Of Defense thought he should be president, like Kamala and Buttigieg

In 1950, Truman vetoed the Subversive Activities Control Act, known as the McCarran Act, calling it “the greatest danger to freedom of speech, press and assembly since the Alien and Sedition laws.” Congress overrode his veto.

in 1952 President Truman ordered the federal gov't to seize control of the nation's steel mills. A dispute in wages between steel mills and union workers was coming to a head and a shutdown loomed. A steel stoppage in the midst of the Korean War was unacceptable to Truman

in 1947 Truman started a Federal Employee Loyalty Program requiring all federal civilian employees to pass an FBI loyalty investigation. Employees were denied access to any FBI records, enabling expanded covert surveillance. In 1953 it augmented to cover "security."

so both Biden and Truman weaponize the FBI

after Truman left office, his approval was at one point at 16 percent. it then rebounded in later years and decades...the same case will be true of Biden

Truman is a late bloomer in so many senses. Perhaps the most important is the evolution of his racial views, from his confederate sympathising family to desegregating the army as President, against the wishes of his own party.

West Point rejected Harry Truman because of his poor eyesight. In 1905, he memorized the eye chart and passed the vision test to join the National Guard. During WWI, Truman commanded Battery D of the 129th Field Artillery, 35th Division

Biden also served in uniform. Beau Biden that is!

Harry Truman's legacy is based on a myth created by the MSM who never saw a democrat they didn't support. High school grad Truman (never graduated from college) was chosen to be FDR's successor because he was a loyal democrat and so freaking dumb that he had no idea of the presidency. He authorized the nuclear attack on Japan and he mismanaged the Korean conflict to such an extent that even media supporters preferred to call it the "forgotten war".
