1. Keystone has nothing to do with this. It has nothing to do with energy independence as the oil is Canadian. That oil will likely find its way to the US by another means.

Nord Stream 2 is irrelevant as well. Trump waited too long to place sanctions on the pipeline to stop it. Ted Cruz's bill was brough up about 4 years too late. Furthermore, Europe wanted it. Nord Stream would not have been stopped.

Also worth noting is that oil companies have not even re-opened the rigs that were closed due to the pandemic. In addition, oil companies are cutting back on drilling even in the US. It is questionable whether publicly traded companies are the best way of getting oil. The Saudi model may be the best and cheapest way to go or some hybrid.
