Believe what you want, but people are being affected right now

The nation's 4th largest city is underwater. And everybody there is being affected. Not just blacks, mexicans, and leftists. But also whites, christians, right wingers. Now, I myself have lived in that region and twice fled hurricanes.

But, nothing to see here, right? Move along, move along, the climate is cooling, storms are getting less intense. It's just your imagination, you are a tree hugging kook.

Well I suppose there is a sort of poetic justice in Texas being hit, seeing how it is the self proclaimed leader of science denialism of all sorts.
so how is it different than the hurricanes you fled?

You know, the warmer the water is over the Gulf, the stronger and bigger the hurricanes will be.

Heat from warm water is what powers hurricanes.
So then by your reasoning there should have been no hurricanes as strong as the ones we have today 100 years ago but we all know that not to be true.

The impact on people is not relevant in the discussion because we all know that our coastlines are much more developed and more densely populated than in any time in our history so of course any storm will have more of an impact

Also you see more about it more quickly due to social media and the 24/7 news cycle we live in today.

What we have here is 2 types of people. The majority, and clear thinking by the way, are able to connect the dots in such a manner that they realize that shit happens and some things in this world just cant be controlled so you learn to live with the best tradeoff you can get. In the vast minority you have those folks who believe that you can eradicate any catastrophic event if we just fix the institutions of government......in this example, if we reversed climate change, Houston would not be happening. These people really are mental cases.
Did you know that in Jacksonville Fla, back in the early 60s there was a Hurricane? Yeah I lived through it. Back in the 60s in Miami there was a hurricane? Yeah I lived through that also. In Maryland, in the 2000s there was a hurricane? Yeah I lived throught that also. Wrong, moron, temperature differences are what power hurricanes. When the earth warms, the poles heat up more than the equator, which means smaller temperature differences and hence fewer, weaker hurricanes.

You really are quite the little retard, aren't you BritPat? You know, Google can be used to find out things you don't know about, and you can do research for yourself before posting and making yourself look like a fool.

By the way, here's what NOAA/NASA says about how hurricanes are formed.....

NOAA/NASA SciJinks :: How does a hurricane form?

Tropical cyclones are like engines that require warm, moist air as fuel. So the first ingredient needed for a tropical cyclone is warm ocean water. That is why tropical cyclones form only in tropical regions where the ocean is at least 80 degrees F for at least the top 50 meters (about 165 feet) below the surface.

The second ingredient for a tropical cyclone is wind. In the case of hurricanes that form in the Atlantic Ocean, the wind blowing westward across the Atlantic from Africa provides the necessary ingredient. As the wind passes over the ocean's surface, water evaporates (turns into water vapor) and rises. As it rises, the water vapor cools, and condenses back into large water droplets, forming large cumulonimbus clouds. These clouds are just the beginning.
How does that disprove what I posted? Wind is created by temperature differences, you witless cockroach.

Your ignorance is quite stunning... You used Wiki which has very little real science. That alone is reason to laugh at you. Pressure differential, caused by temperature and partial water vapor pressures are what cause these to form. Many form off of the coast of Africa where dry hot air meets cool wet air. It causes what is called an 'eddie' which persists as it proceeds along the equator. Upper level wind shear and temperature drives the eddie or crushes it.

You should get a real clue.

Actually, YOU should be the one to get a clue. By the way, if you had actually clicked on the link, you would have see that it doesn't go to Wiki, it goes to a government website connected to NOAA/NASA.

The water has to be warm in order for it to rise and generate the energy required to start up a hurricane. Why do you think that the hurricane season for the Atlantic runs from June 1st to November?

That's only one thing that a hurricane needs. If the water was the same temperature everywhere on earth, even if it was 100 degrees, there would be no hurricanes.

Actually, it's a combination of water temperature and air temperature. And no, even if the water was 100 deg. all over the planet, there would still be hurricanes because of the temperature of the atmosphere. If the air over the water is cooler than the water, the water will cause the air directly above it to rise as it warms it up, and that will generate the energy required for the hurricane.

Wrong, there wouldn't be any hurricanes of the water was the same temperature all over the entire earth. Temperature differences are what drive wind. No temperature difference, no wind. You can only have a hurricane if the hot moist air rising from the center has somewhere cooler it can go to sink again.

You're focusing only on the conditions at the eye of the hurricane, as if they are the only ones that matter. That isn't the case. Hurricanes require the right conditions in the entire Northern hemisphere.

For the dimbulbs here, that is, all 'Conservatives', five years ago Jennifer Francis explained the persistence of storms systems in relationship to the lack of arctic ice. Simple physics states that warmer water temperatures and a warmer atmosphere will result in more water in the atmosphere. And when that water in the atmosphere comes out of the atmosphere, those of us underneath get wet.

But, the 'Conservatives' will continue to ignore and lie about what science says. They are profoundly ignorant, and work hard to stay that way. It is a matter of pride for them.

Did you notice how profoundly ignorant the bitch is, by ignoring the fact that after 6 years of Al Jazeera Gores predication of ice free Arctic, that the Arctic had more ice? Yep you are definitely a Sociopath and need to be put away.

Now, since the date is presently August of 2017, what is going on now?

Well below two standard deviations from the average for this time of year. And since you are obviously ignorant of what that means, you really should look it.

lol......you idiot. It was a hurricane.............duh. Check a weather map from last Friday genius......there was a huge high pressure system stalled by the jet stream pattern in the northwest US.

Joe Bastardi and the Weatherbell Team

Like I say.......some people are just prone to being hysterical about things in life.:bye1:
Yes, stalled by the jet stream pattern. Which is exactly what Jennifer Francis said would be causing extreme weather events in her lecture in 2012.

Other climate change cult members have predicted the climate will be dryer and that we would have more drought. In other words, no matter what happens, the climate change cult has it covered.
What a lying little bitch you are. Yes, droughts are predicted, as well as precipitation events. What part do you not understand of stuck weather patterns? Texas lost 300 million trees to their last drought. But that was longer than a week ago, so, of course, you don't remember.

Stupid ass, a Cat 4 hurricane is always a serious event. But a 52" rainfall in six days is a far more serious event.

There is no weather event on the plant that warmist cult members haven't claimed to be the result of global warming.
