Bachmann signs The Family Lead pledge

oh and just an update..the not quite so social liberal rep. when we want or don't want her to be .......

Snowe: No Medicare Or Social Security Cuts In Debt Deal | Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe (ME) said she will not support any debt deal that includes cuts to the two social safety net programs, citing “strong bipartisan support.” “There are solvency problems with both programs. They have to be addressed but not as part of the debt reduction talks,”

...on some agenda & soooooooooo WRONG on others. This type of 'doublespeak' is WHY I fled the GOP & became a card carrying member of our Libertarian party. While I support many of Michele's past actions, such as the trashing of ACORN, this type of agenda attacking others sexual preferences/desires is strictly pandering to the bible belt crowd for support & votes.
My support of Representative Ron Paul is based largely on the people control(PC) agenda of other candidates. Michele has a checkered past regarding the constituency's Constitutionally based individual liberties. Because of her support of the unconstitutional patriot act, her stand against decriminalizing rec drugs & constant interference with other peoples personal sexual desires, I cannot support her as a presidential candidate.

are you sure this one said she's a dem?

Mhm.

Maybe 'liberal' and 'conservative' is too simplistic, then. I can be conservative on some issues and hawkish on foreign policy, but I'm not a Republican. I'm your Iowa-raised blue Demoract type: progressive, but Kucinich gives me a headache and I threw away my FREE MUMIA t shirt after high school.

sell 'em, tax 'em, control their sales and production and safety.

eh... i'm ok with it. they have registered addicts in other countries. you think they do more or less drugs than people in this country?

Portugal at the very least decriminalized all drugs. Worked pretty well for them. I remember reading they cut their addict rate in half.

I remember reading Netherlands was closing eight of their prisons due to a lack of criminals.

Meanwhile, here in the U.S the prison population is at an all-time high thanks to the War on Drugs while violent crime has been steadily declining since the early 80's.

I remember reading the dutch was closing a lot of their markets/hash bars, reducing the zone of drug free use, stepping up efforts to stop foreign purchasing and taking back & cleaning up their parks.

and us, here in good ole America, we are just like them....yup...

The majority of Tea Partiers are against cuts to Medicare and Social Security too. Guess that makes them all far left too, huh?

you're changing the subject. no one said kids should have access to porn. (you know, given that's what your link refers to)

and given that you felt the need to change the goal posts, i'd say that's an acknowledgment of your flawed argument.

I know I certainly haven't said that kids should have access to porn. She really hasn't offered up any reasonable arguments yet.

she hates porn. ok, it's her right. but there are certain people who like to find every reason for government to step in to stop what they hate... even when it's intended for adults. they can't separate prevention of criminality (a legitimate role of government)n with babysitting adults (NOT a legitimate role of government... well, except to the right.

are you sure this one said she's a dem?

I don't think there's anything in the Democratic Platform about being 'pro-porn'.

What adults what to do in their private time is generally their own business, but you could probably argue that bad effects porn has on society - at the very least, children. In this day and age, kids (who are known for being stupid) can access anything on the web.

So it isn't like when I was growing up (well, I'm only 26, so maybe my parents), where boys had smutty magazines under their beds but girls weren't expected to act like porn stars.

Opposing regulation of the porn industry is effectively saying that 'anything goes'. Oh, and kids and porn has been a topic lately, what with Cali and its violent video games ban.

It's illegal to distribute porn to minors...ah, what a joke. And obscenity laws? What is obscene anymore these days? And if people are busted frequently for possession of child porn, that signals it's readily available.

the
porn
industry
today
harms
children

...that really shouldn't be a debate.

Don't mind Trajan. Windbag was trying to argue last night that Olympia Snowe was "far left". I told him he was out of his tree. He also tried to argue that Chris Christie is a Social Liberal.

You get gems like these:

He is, like most people, flexible about some things. It doesn't change the fact that he opposes government interference in most issues that social conservatives support.

What else? You say most issues but are only naming Abortion.

Look it up yourself.

I gave a name of a far left Republican and your response was that the Republicans want Snowe out of the party. Since then you have been accusing me of moving the goalpost, even though the post you just quoted shows that I have been using the term socially liberal from the beginning.

You are making a fool of yourself.

Snowe isn't far left. I said she was a Liberal Republican at best.

She is far left.

Your problem is that you have no idea where the center is.

Hear that? A woman who votes with the GOP 62.9% of the time in almost 400 votes is somehow far left now.

This is the kind of stuff you missed last night and I've been missing lately because I'm not in the trenches.

In the poll, Americans across all age groups and ideologies said by large margins that it was "unacceptable'' to make significant cuts in entitlement programs in order to reduce the federal deficit. Even tea party supporters, by a nearly 2-to-1 margin, declared significant cuts to Social Security "unacceptable."

That includes Conservatives too.

Turns out "Small Government" Conservatives have a problem with being "Small Government" when it comes to certain things.

That's right, I said Obama is not a Liberal. I'm asking you however whether you think Olympia Snowe is "far left".

I'm not pushy. I asked you a very simple question that you've avoided twice now. I've always addressed any of your posts.
