On The Way Home To Earth
Remember those two astronauts who went up to the ISS for just a few days last June? They had the misfortune of riding up on Boeing's Starliner which flunked out with a bad booster leaving them stranded there.

So their 6 days became 6 months and they were supposed to get a ride back down very soon on the next SpaceX launch up there except that this has now been moved back for technical reasons to March. So now, the mission that was to last just 6 days will have stranded these two poor schnooks in space for 3/4ths of a year.

Another first for Boeing Aerospace!

I hope that they don't run out of food and water.

I hope that they don't get space madness like Ren and Stempy did.

How do you mean? there are others stranded up there?

No, there were already others up there long term. These two were just to visit for 6 days to test the Boeing Starliner.
The Starliner left them stranded.
SpaceX is sending up a replacement crew and supplies soon according to regular scheduling. The two stranded ones will be coming back on the empty ship, but now it won't be going up until March.

I think that by then .... when and if they finally arrive to Earth, they will need psychiatric help.

What they have gone through is beyond words.

Simply horrible.:(

When NASA's mission was redefined to global warming propaganda during Obama, Americans had to hitch a ride on Russian junk to get to space.

Those are the risks. That is space business. I guess the other people there find them "stuff" to do.
Otherwise, they float around, look out the window and try to keep in shape exercising.

NASA built the Space Shuttle to get to and from our space station but we never got around to building it.
Then Russia built a pretty decent modular space station (MIR) but only had the crappy Soyuz rockets to get there.
Now we have the modular ISS kind of copied from the MIR but are stuck with the Boeing lump-O-shit and the SpaceX Dragon.

Not the reason they sent the ship home by itself.

The craft to bring the two astronauts home is already at the ISS. It was launched with a crew of two, to allow the extra seats for them to come home.

The "empty ship" is not empty. Two members of the ISS are a new crew sent up in a 2-man crew so they would have empty seats for them all to return when that 2-man crew is returned home.

We never got around to building what? The shuttle or the space station? The shuttle built the space station!

Well, I hope that they will at least get a decent payment for their journey.
