They happen everywhere. Our police who are always armed are shot and killed weekly. Something that is very rare in countries with strong gun control. The Orlando night club had armed security. Too many guns equals too many deaths.Actually eliminating gun free zones goes a long way in making shooter's targets safer.
Great Idea (jnot)
I bet you want others to believe you thought this foolishness all by yourself.
You say that as if it was an intelligent statement.......
Gun free zones draw these shooters.....we know because they tell us ..... you hate guns, and because of that, you don't want this problem solved, you need dead people to push gun control.
The only smart thing to do is to allow normal, law abiding people to carry their legal guns with them when they go to these places...do that, and mass shooters will stop attacking them....
The Anti-Trump, Anti-Israel shooter didn't attack when there was armed security at the synagogue, he attacked when it was a gun free zone... you refuse to learn that lesson, now more people will die....
Four of the six people shot but not killed at the synagog were highly trained police.
The armed security person at the Orlando night club was one of the first to be shot and killed.
Arming people isn't the answer. All that does is guarantee the armed security person is the first or one of the first to be shot and killed.
Removing the guns from crazy people is the answer. Unfortunately trump signed an EO that make it easier for those with mental problems to get a gun.
When the police showed up with their guns he stopped shooting the unarmed civilians....had armed civilians been in the place to begin with, he would have chosen a different place to shoot up...we know this from actual mass public shooters who state this under questioning or leave it in their notes.
The armed security guard at the Pulse Night club was an off duty police detective, who was handling an underage drinker down the block, who had just left the club....the shooter was standing in the lobby when the detective shot at him, missing, and then he retreated to call for backup, leaving the 300 unarmed patrons trapped in a building without the ability to stop the shooter.
Arming people is the answer....we know because the mass shooter tell us it is the answer.
Trump followed Civil Rights, and the ACLU as well as 23 other mental health groups supported Trump.... you might want to actually do a little research before you post....
Gun Control Laws Should Be Fair
But gun control laws, like any law, should be fair, effective and not based on prejudice or stereotype. This rule met none of those criteria.
In this era of “alternative facts,” we must urge politicians to create laws based on reliable evidence and solid data.
The thousands of Americans whose disability benefits are managed by someone else range from young people with depression and financial inexperience to older adults with Down syndrome needing help with a limited budget. But no data — none — show that these individuals have a propensity for violence in general or gun violence in particular.
To the contrary, studies show that people with mental disabilities are less likely to commit firearm crimes than to be the victimsof violence by others.
--------------------------
The ACLU and 23 national disability groups did not oppose this rule because we want more guns in our community.
This is about more than guns. Adding more innocent Americans to the National Instant Criminal Background database because of a mental disability is a disturbing trend — one that could be applied to voting, parenting or other rights dearer than gun ownership. We opposed it because it would do little to stem gun violence but do much to harm our civil rights.
