Shooting them as they cross the border is so old school.

Just create a 2 mile wide NIZ (No Illegal Zone) along the southern border and pepper it with land mines.

Better do the same with the northern border to keep the Canucks out.

We might want to add Hellfire Missile launchers to all police helecopters, Coast Guard Helo's, patrol boats, etc. Can't use sea mines there as it might be a rich guy on his yacht, have to be a little more decerning.
