Are you happy? What aspects of your life are you happy about? Any advice for becoming happy?

One of our founding documents cites, "the pursuit of happiness" as a fundamental right. I tend to agree with that. We are ENTITLED to be able to pursue happiness without the interference of an oppressive government. That presupposes that we do not seek happiness at the expense of others.

One of the biggest obstacles to my happiness is crappy weather. Does that make me shallow?
The Declaration of Independence is not one of our founding documents.

You are absolutely, totally, and disturbingly wrong. The Declaration continues to be cited in classrooms, courts, and legislatures. It is at the heart of the 5th and 14th Amendments, albeit with "property" substituted for "the pursuit of happiness."

And you teach in a public school? Shame on you.

The Declaration of Independence did not establish our form of government or any of our laws, and was written well before our nation was founded at all.
