They celebrate German food, beer, dress and music

Just in my immediate area there are Irish festivals ('cause we're awesome), Scottish festivals, Italian festivals, Portuguese festivals, Armenian festivals, Greek festivals, you name it every year. No hating that I have seen. I try to take my boys to a few different ones each year. Aside from a couple, they don't really represent us. It's just fun to get a load of different cultures, music, food, etc.

Not sure about the spanish, but Italians were certainly attacked over Columbus Day and the previous history of national celebration of it, has been under attack for decades.
