I'm not sure how that would work. What would such a law say: "No prosecutions with political motivations?"
We heard from Dems during the lawfare that if you get a speeding ticket, you shouldn't ask why the other drivers who are going just as fast didn't get one. If you were speeding, you deserve the ticket.
No, but now that Dems are finally getting some back, they will be willing to negotiate if they are wise. If it is only the Dems who do it, why should they give up such a potent weapon?
They're still doing it, even when not in power, by judge shopping for low-level federal judges willing to issue orders to the POTUS about how to conduct foreign policy. It's having an effect. They may decide this is even better lawfare than ginning up criminal charges.
It's going to take several mugshots and perp walks, and some jail time, for Dems to realize their favorite game now has two teams playing.
