Instead of a platform that might make modest but definite gains in the house and put automatic cloture out of reach in the Senate like saying "Trump is unpredictable and some of his trade policies will raise the prices on the things you buy." or "He is dividing our country." They are instead marching ever further left.
Does their behavior even make good nonsense? Are they doing everything possible to get themselves drowned by a red tsunami? Can anyone make sense of the Ds?

Republicans are marching further to the right. A white supremacist for the Senate in Virginia. The fiasco of separating children from their parents. Their moving farther right on immigration.

Instead of concentrating on telling Americans what the party can do for them they seem content with crazy hate speech and obstructionism.
