Every iPhone, iPad and Mac device could be at risk of being hacked.

Apple has confirmed that almost all of its devices are affected by Intel and Arm chip 'design flaws' that could expose billions of people's personal data to cyber criminal

Well if they didn't know they could hack it before they know it now. But really the hackers knew this already and have known it.
All information crossing our Gov. let that sink in.......................as they pretend they couldn't get into the iphones after San Bernadino. The pos gov. wanted the codes so they themselves couldn't be spied on etc.

Maybe they should do the right thing and fix these devices.

Meltdown, Spectre: Major chip flaws affect billions of devices

ACTUALLY, all Mac computers and iOS devices except the Apple Watch (as well as all Intel chip users with normal kernel configuration) are affected by chip security flaws but there are no known exploits impacting users. Recent software updates for iPads, iPhones, iPod touches, Mac desktops and laptops, and the Apple TV set-top-box mitigate one of the vulnerabilities known as Meltdown. The Apple Watch, which runs a derivative of the iPhone’s operating system is not affected.

Despite concern that fixes may slow down devices, Apple said its steps to address the Meltdown issue haven’t dented performance. The company will release an update to its Safari web browser in coming days to defend against another form of the security flaw known as Spectre. These steps could slow the speed of the browser by less than 2.5%. It all stems from a vulnerability found in how the chips handle a process called speculative execution. Intel said its chips, which power Macs and devices from other manufacturers, contain the flaw as well as processors based on ARM Holdings architecture, which is used in iOS devices and Android smartphones. Security experts say the highly regulated sectors of industry such as government offices and public health institutions are most at risk of compromise as a result of the chip security vulnerability.

Maybe they should do the right thing and fix these devices.
They can only turn off features of the chip. The fix will have to be in the release of new chips.
When will the new chips come out? Will they fix them then?
You'll have to buy a new phone with the updated chips, process will take years, and Apple nor anyone else is under any obligation to fix Intel's problems.
Maybe they should get sued for selling faulty devices and not fixing them.
Car manufacturers have to fix their faulty shit. Why should technology companies not do the same?

I imagine intel has been getting all their ducks in a row.

Car manufacturers are responsible for their products by a whole swarm of Federal regulations, that's how that usually works.

Technology companies dont have regulations that are supposed to stop them from selling faulty crap?

Pretty sure not.

Otherwise you could sue (class action lawsuits) Microsoft for being hit by an exploit in Windows and losing all your data.
