The key problem with this case is that jones was denied his 7th amendment right to a jury trial. The corrupt judge simply announced that jones was being uncooperative and therefore she was making a default judgement and the jury will not decide the case. Jones cannot give his side of the story and he loses and all the jury can do is assess a penalty.

dec 6 2024 The appellate court also determined that a lower court “properly exercised its discretion" in finding Jones and his Infowars' parent company Free Speech Systems LLC., liable for damages by default for failing to cooperate with court rules on sharing evidence.

The 7A in its entirety says:

In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty
dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a
jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than
according to the rules of the common law.

So LESSEE:
  • There were 26 victims of Sandy Hook.
  • The perp Adam Lanza who did the killing paid nothing.
  • The family of Adam Lanza who armed him paid nothing.
  • The victim's families went after Remington who merely made the rifle but had nothing to do with the killings.
  • Now just because Alex Jones questioned the circumstances of the whole event, the court expects him to pay each family of the victims 37 million each. :shok:

Jones didn't follow the court rules in his filings. That's the key problem.

The 7A makes no exceptions for that or anything else. Judges can't simply say, "In my opinion you are uncooperative so i am cancelling your 7A right to a jury trial."

It really is insane. We all have the right to say, "The govt is lying." This is free speech but libs say no.

I honestly don't know the details of just what Alex Jones suggested or claimed, but I find it hard to believe any view or opinion of his no matter how wrong or off from the facts, could be worth nearly a BILLION dollars in damages to those families.

I mean, I'd be shocked if the actual MURDERER of those 26 people, Lanza, were fined a BILLION dollars for the killing of them!

That makes Alex Jones and Infowars WORSE than a mass murderer in the eyes of the court for spreading lies, propaganda or a bad opinion (or maybe it was just too GOOD of an opinion?).

It makes no sense.

So it will be interesting to see if SCOTUS will take this one on. They have authority to increase or decrease the punitive damages awarded by a lower court.

How come the school is not liable? Why not the police?

The democrats found a way to destroy a popular conservative who exposes their lies

This is dictatorship. You have to let people question what the govt says. Where are the videos of these school shootings? The schools have cams everywhere and the kids have phone cams. But we never see vids of these school shootings.

Some people seem to not understand that "Common Law" and "Civil Law" are two different things.

This was a Civil Law defamation case, not a Common Law case.

I just found out how rigged the proceedings were.

On top of that, just as the establishment censored information that would inform the public of this corruption, they pretty much used the same play book they used on information around the 2020 election and on COVID.

The narrative was manipulated to be something that was opposite of what reality was.
