Funny because my parents are millionaires now, and they were working during the 80s 90s and 2000s.

Now I don't know where you got that "prosperity for all" came from, because people who don't work, will not be prosperous, no matter what economic system you have.

But everyone who worked, consistently and intelligently did better off. Universally, all the people who worked and lives smart, did better.

In fact, from the 1970s to the 1990s, of all the people that started out in the bottom quintile, there were more people in the TOP quintile, than the bottom, after 10 years.

That's statistical fact. The majority of people who started off in the lowest income bracket, ended up in the top income bracket, after switching to Reaganomics.

By the way, trickle down is how the 1970s and 1960s, and 1950s, 40s, 30s, 20s, 10s,.... Trickle down has always been how the economy works. There was never a time before Reagan, that wasn't trickle down.

You still got your wealth... from the rich. If you owned a Model T... it came from super wealthy Henry Ford. If you had a job, you got it from a rich guy that hired you.

My father had a HS Diploma and got a union job at 18. On that salary he was able to raise four kids on a single salary, had good health benefits, a pension and retired at 60 with no debt. He sent four kids to college without going into hock.

Today’s kids have no shot at that American Dream. AOC wants to bring some of that back.

What happened in the 1980's was a major recession. I don't care what you on the left say about the Obama recession, it was not nearly as bad as the 80's. I lived through both. Back in the 80's, there weren't even any McDonald's jobs around.

So people were living off of unemployment which at the time, barely paid enough if that. The American consumer lost their solidarity with American union made products and went to cheaper foreign products so survive. When the economy took off again, consumers stayed with their foreign products. Eventually we had no choice because as time went on, we had more inventions and things to buy.

For American businesses to compete with this new consumer love of foreign products, unions had to go. An American doll house company couldn't sell their doll houses for 20 bucks when the Chinese made doll houses were only 13. It became a trend that still exists today.

An American business cannot pay a floor sweeper $20.00 an hour to ride around on a floor sweeping machine, and be able to make those 10 dollar doll houses to compete. People started to get paid what they were worth instead of what a union demanded they get paid. Companies that couldn't break the unions left the state or country in some cases just to get away from them.

In the 1980s, we switched to supply side/trickle down with a promise of prosperity for all. It didn’t work. Instead of a rising tide lifting all boats, it only lifted the yachts

God forbid if we were neighbors.

Many of our fathers worked long hours and went without in order to save and to provide. There was no such thing as internet, cell phones, Starbucks, no one drove a BMW and if you even had a television there wasn't cable.

My father had a HS Diploma and got a union job at 18. On that salary he was able to raise four kids on a single salary, had good health benefits, a pension and retired at 60 with no debt. He sent four kids to college without going into hock.

Today’s kids have no shot at that American Dream. AOC wants to bring some of that back.

What? Your Dad from the greatest generation worked and paid to put food on the table, sent kids to school,

If that's the case then her worst and deadliest enemies will be in academia.

The reason why education has become unaffordable has more to do with the growth of academia as a money-making business and much less to do the value of the common dollar.
