I actually agree with you that his response to that question was pathetic. We hear so much about about how Trump is a genius that’s able to speak directly to the American people, but that reporter lobbed a softball to him and gave him the opportunity to speak directly to us, and Trump went on a nonsensical rant. He hasn’t showed empathy for the people suffering through this, and empathy goes a long way for a lot people.
