. . . was a good role model (hint: Paul Ryan), he is loony. Ayn was indeed a loony who could not make it successfully in a world in which scores of millions grew up and lived competent lives. And Paul, good guy that he is, is a loony for Ayn.

She used to fuck Nathaniel Brandon's lights out with her husband Frank O' Connor in the next room. Add "callous narcissist" to the list.

Did she really have to go on welfare? It seems that the royalties for her books would have carried her quite well, and "The Fountainhead" was made into a movie.

Indeed, Sunni Man, so close the door behind you.

She was a failure in society that she said should honor the individualist.

Once more the radical left illustrates it's bigotry. The Nazis might have said the same thing. You almost gotta laugh when the left alleges that the opinion of a "childless atheist" author should be dismissed. Do ignorant lefties understand that their bigotry might extend to most homosexual authors in history?

Atlas Shrugged is the most boring story ever.

Ever.

It could have been condensed into 20 pages and not lost an iota of substantiality.

It obviously went over your head. You don't even know what it's about.

Atlas shrugged has been on the NYT best seller list every year since she wrote it - 60 years.

She was a failure in society that she said should honor the individualist.

She had two of the best selling books of all time, and you claim she's a failure?

What's your great accomplishment, Fakey, performing a bodily function without assistance?

Did she really have to go on welfare? It seems that the royalties for her books would have carried her quite well, and "The Fountainhead" was made into a movie.
No, she didn't go on Welfare. She collected Social Security, something the snowflakes like to attack her for. She paid into, so she was legally and morally entitled to get the benefits.

Is there no lie so absurd that a moron snowflake like you is too ashamed to repeat it?

As a teen, I rubbed elbows with Jack Kemp, Bill Buckley and his brother Jim, and other conservative luminaries. Most of you probably don't even know who those people are.

I even met Governor Ronald Reagan before he was President.

So I have known and debated with Libertarians all my life. It comes with the territory of being an old school conservative that whereever groups of us met, there was always a bag of Libertarians in the mix. I am very familiar with the disease. Bill Buckley suffered from it, and he infected Reagan to a degree. I even have quite a wide streak of it myself. However, I am also blessed with a lot of common sense, logic, and an understanding of human beings, which cannot be said of purebred Libertarians, sadly.

I also grew up on National Review, when it was actually edited and contributed to by Buckley himself.

In fact, the best criticism of Ayn Rand's phenomenally boring tome was written by none other than Whittaker Chambers for the National Review.

Here it is: Big Sister Is Watching You

I am sad to inform all you pseudocon tards it is longer, much longer, than a Tweet.

Don't be projecting, son. You look like a fool.

Bill Buckley was never a libertarian.

That's one reason we know you are lying. The other reason is that you lie all the time.

Ayn Rand made a ton of money from direct sales and the royalties from her books & screenplays, and I'm assuming she had enough money to take care of herself without the payments. This is a bit 3rd hand, but the blog quoted above estimated Rand's net worth to have been $500,000 when she died in 1982.May 27, 2013

The Myth
She was a Fascist

The Truth:
She was an opponent of fascism and communism and wrote...
"The basic political principle of the Objectivist ethics is: no man may initiate the use of physical force against others. No man—or group or society or government—has the right to assume the role of a criminal and initiate the use of physical compulsion against any man. Men have the right to use physical force only in retaliation and only against those who initiate its use. The ethical principle involved is simple and clear-cut: it is the difference between murder and self-defense. A holdup man seeks to gain a value, wealth, by killing his victim; the victim does not grow richer by killing a holdup man. The principle is: no man may obtain any values from others by resorting to physical force."
“The Objectivist Ethics,” The Virtue of Selfishness, 32.

and

"It is obvious what the fraudulent issue of fascism versus communism accomplishes: it sets up, as opposites, two variants of the same political system; it eliminates the possibility of considering capitalism; it switches the choice of “Freedom or dictatorship?” into “Which kind of dictatorship?”—thus establishing dictatorship as an inevitable fact and offering only a choice of rulers. The choice—according to the proponents of that fraud—is: a dictatorship of the rich (fascism) or a dictatorship of the poor (communism).

"That fraud collapsed in the 1940’s, in the aftermath of World War II. It is too obvious, too easily demonstrable that fascism and communism are not two opposites, but two rival gangs fighting over the same territory—that both are variants of statism, based on the collectivist principle that man is the rightless slave of the state—that both are socialistic, in theory, in practice, and in the explicit statements of their leaders—that under both systems, the poor are enslaved and the rich are expropriated in favor of a ruling clique—that fascism is not the product of the political “right,” but of the “left”—that the basic issue is not “rich versus poor,” but man versus the state, or: individual rights versus totalitarian government—which means: capitalism versus socialism."
“‘Extremism,’ or The Art of Smearing,” Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal, 180.

From the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy:
"Ayn Rand (1905–1982) was a philosopher and a novelist who outlined a comprehensive philosophy, including an epistemology and a theory of art, in her novels and essays." link

Does America Need Ayn Rand or Jesus?

interview with Yaron Brook, President of the Ayn Rand Institute.

and,
According to an associate of Ayn Rand, Ryan, "abjured his former compliments to Ayn Rand".
Ryan said: "I reject her philosophy. . . . it is antithetical to my world view. If somebody is going to try to paste a person's view on epistemology to me, then give me Thomas Aquinas. . . . Don't give me Ayn Rand."
