That being said, we know what warms the planet, that is UV radiation penetrating 550m or so into the oceans, and thereby heating them.

Longwave IR can't penetrate the skin of water, so it CAN'T warm the oceans.

It's not. There's 3 million years of empirical climate evidence that shows when the northern hemisphere deglaciates the oceans and the atmosphere warm. That's what's going on today.

I think you're missing some context here. First, it doesn't matter what is causing glaciers to melt, they are melting. Second, we are adapted to the climate as we have it right now, ANY change will require major adjustments and there will be winners and losers. Lastly, while it is true climate has fluctuated widely in the past, it has often brought major extinctions and I'd rather my family wasn't on that list.

I think maybe you meant to say the 20th or 21st century.

But the only way you are getting rid of fossil fuels - which is a bad idea - is nuclear because solar, wind, wave, etc or low energy density options with lots and lots of challenges to be base loading sources of electrical generation.
